MotoGP » PIC: Valentino Rossi celebrates first grand prix win

My buddy got me into sport bikes back in 2001. It was perfect timing for me to witness almost all of Vale's premiere class career. When he does decide to hang 'em up, I'll be a bit distraught. Although, the arrival of MM will fill the deficit....almost! Lol! Jorge must be thinking, "Man, I'm glad I was able to grab 2 titles before this kid came along!" Dani is either a robot for real, or he's one of the best actors I've seen. He now knows a title is unlikely, but keeps with the brave face. I hope everyone leaves Brno with no new injuries.

MotoGP » Dominant Marquez pulls clear with US hat-trick

This kid is something else! His explanation of why he thinks the track is fine, being flat and with 3 different types of asphalt, was spot on! Dani & Jorge could only concur by saying, "same". Vale's charge was something I was crossing my fingers for, and couldn't have been timed better. Overall, I really, really enjoyed this GP.

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi: Three very demanding weeks

The truly amazing thing is that he's able to contend for podiums with the young prodigy, as well as the the other 2 Spanish aliens, after all these years. Sure, others have won races at later stages of their careers, but Vale has been a podium contender and race winner for almost 17 years running (bar Ducati). I also did some research and discovered that Ago had won some of his races by lapping riders sometimes more than once during those races!! It seems that his machinery's performance potential was miles above the others back then. No disrespect to him, but Vale, as well as all the current crop, have to deal with machines that are not exactly equal in terms of performance, but much closer than they were back in the 60's. Vale IS the greatest IMHO & if Marc wants to usurp him, he's got a very long stretch of track ahead of him. I'll def enjoy watching him go for it! Kinda wish Casey was still here........

MotoGP » de Puniet: Suzuki has 'really good potential'

I think it'd be cool if the big Japanese 4, along with BMW, Aprilia and KTM would all be involved in the series with (1) single-rider Factory team, as well as (2) two-rider satellite teams, making 35 potential grid spots. Heck, even just (1) two-rider satellite team per manufacturer, plus the factory team, would fill 21 grid spots with prototypes. For Suzi to wait until 2015 is a bit ridiculous! Randy, as good as he is, is no title contender, and the bike should not be judged until pushed to THE EDGE by a podium potential rider. Someone like Cal, Vale or Dovi could make up the difference and lap near or under the GP13s. Vale should go for it!! It makes sense at this point in his career.

MotoGP » Catalunya MotoGP: Rossi ‘Barcelona very important after recent results’

Vale, along with Edwards, are old school through and through. Which is prob something to do with the qualifying issue. Being mid-pack through the first 1/2 lap is gambling quite a bit too. I liked the old qual format myself. Burgess is very involved in trying to solve it somehow, but he's no spring chicken and must be close to being ready for retirement. I do wish Vale a good handful of podiums this season at the very least.
