MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP: Lorenzo, Yamaha top as Honda struggle

I wonder how much sand & dust will settle on the track before the MotoGP boys set out on it in just over 9 hours time. @ least they had 2 other classes out there to clean it for them today(Thurs). Not sure if I'm excited or not about the new qualifying format. Though traffic shouldn't be as big an issue, coming in to make changes must be done quickly. Any mechanical/electrical issues could be more significant.

MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP: Dovi fifth, Hayden setting sights higher

Man, I hope Nicky gets his head straight & finds another avenue to show his skills. I, like many others, admire his team spirit & determination, but there's a time when you've flogged a dead horse for long enough. With the new rules coming in with the Honda Production Racer for sale and leased M1 engines in custom frames, I think it'd be the perfect time to try one of 'em out, or go to SBK. Shoot, imagine if he & Ben join forces for an all American Suzuki comeback effort? I know...I'm dreaming.

MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP: Valentino Rossi lights up practice

This bodes nicely for Vale, given he's not traditionally a hot-lapper, pole setter or fast starter. He's usually good for a position or two further up come race day. Has anyone confirmed from the practice video that Jorge & Cal used a newly mounted soft tire to put in their final laps? If they did, Vale must be even more confident in his result. Go Yamaha!!

MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP: Flying Crutchlow splits Lorenzo, Rossi

There's no doubt that Cal is fast, and it seems like now, at the start of the season, the satellite bike is close in performance to the factory. This won't be the case come summer though. Plus, one can see that even though he's split Jorge & vale by the very slightest of measurable margins, he's clearly on the brink of crashing, with the bike flailing about beneath him. Jorge & Vale appeared to be testing the limits in a more methodical manner, never looking like they'd yet found it. I like Cal quite a bit, but am afraid it's probably true that he's on the best bike he'll be getting.
