MotoGP » Caught out in Qatar

I feel bad. Poor kid was given a shot & on his first out, he crashed. So what. Let's at least see if this was a one off in his very first GP race with the biggest stars on 2 wheels. I too think maybe his contract terms were a bit premature, but Herve saw something in this kid, so let's give him a chance.

MotoGP » Moto3 engine crackdown for 2014

When will performance be a priority in these 3 classes? 6 single-cylinder engines for 18 races!? Really? Singles tend to need more attention than multi-cyl, albeit with fewer components to consider. How expensive is it really, when there's so few pieces to design/test? I can understand the cost saving principle in MotoGP, but not in this class.

MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP: Lorenzo daunting in the dark

I really respect Jorge's ability and feel he's the current man to beat on the track. Once this seamless gearbox becomes available, he'll become even more likely to run off into the distance. His style is sooooo smooth, this transmission will only compliment him even more so than the fact that the M1 is a corner carving beast. It should also help Vale out, who rides with a similar smoothness. I just hope that all the hoopla surrounding Vale's comeback doesn't ruin their relationship within the team. These guys have got it all sewn up nicely. Go Yamaha!

MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP: Traffic jam costs Rossi in qualifying

I hope they adjust the format. With only 15 minutes, they all rush out to get in a fast warm up lap, followed by a couple hot laps. Then they all pit at pretty much the same time to do it all over one more time if their lucky. The limited time creates more traffic if anything, as there's only one way to maximize track time. Poor Hector didn't even get on track due to an electrical glitch or something. I'm not a fan of his, but it still stinks. They should stop all riders not in the top 10 after 45 minutes & give the top guys the track.

MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP: Lorenzo second by 0.001s, chassis undecided

Jorge wins another race in Qatar based on consistency. Second could be a battle between Dani & Vale. Marc & Cal should be battling for fourth, with Cal coming through. Cal is not smooth but is experienced in preserving the tires for an entire GP & Marc is unproven in too many areas. I have a real fear Marc may cause a pile up in turn one off the start, maybe not if he's got pole. He might run off there outbreaking someone in the race.

MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP: Honda extends exclusive Moto2 engine deal

What more can you say? It's one way to bring out the fresh talent. That and a control ECU, which is easy when all the engines are the same. Still, it would be cool if another in-line four was available as an option. Hint, hint there Yami, Kawi & Suzi. A control ECU could still work if the basic cylinder configuration stays the same.

MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP: Marquez up front and feeling good

I see Jorge winning another one based on consistency. Second will be a battle between Dani & Vale. Dani will most likely place higher than both Cal & Marc, as will Vale simply based on experience & craft. Marc & Cal should be battling for third, with Cal coming through. Cal is not consistent & Marc is unproven over distance. I have a real fear Marc may cause a pile up in turn one off the start, maybe not if he's got pole. He might run off there trying to outbreak Cal later in the race.
