MotoGP » Austin MotoGP test times - Thursday (Final)

Marquez is a quick study for sure. Dani & Jorge are the likely favs for the title, but Vale & Marc will def be all over them should a mistake be made. Vale will hopefully be closer to the others at some familiar tracks, apart from Sepang, where more data comparisons to the old M1 can be made. Dani, Jorge & Vale are proven rain riders, where Marc will most likely see his learning curve steepen a bit. All this waiting is getting unbearable!! Let's all just hope/pray for an injury free season with few runaways!!

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi: Big gains, some problems remain

"I'd say we're seeing a new chapter in MotoGP, one where other riders will have to adopt an different approach or be left in the dust. If he's this fast and agressive now what the heck is he going to be like in 2 years?-FZ1 Jorge achieved 3 poles, with a win on his 3rd MotoGP race. Vale beat him that year in '08 & again in '09. Casey beat Jorge in '11. Dani will most likely place higher than Marc given historical trends. He is a rookie after all. Remember, not even Rossi claimed a title in his rookie season in any category. If Marc does this, I'll gladly bow to him. Either way, it's gonna be an awesome season!

@daniel kuchnia, I wasn't comparing Rossi to those other riders, but simply saying that they all are my favorite riders over the time I've been watching road racing. Mladin was unstoppable until Spies came along. Nicky was brilliant on the RC51, as EBoz was on the ZX-7 when he was 2nd in points one year to Mladin until Yates caused that massive crash @ Laguna when we could see WSBK match up to the USA. Bayliss vs. Edwards is a rivalry, and especially @ Imola, where I'd dare say it rivals Laguna '08 GP & the Welkom GP in 2004 for the best race in recent times. Losing Sic had me in tears for weeks each time I thought about never seeing him race again. Remember when Miguel crashed his CBR in the 200, remounted & charged through the field, broken fairing & all?!! All these guys rode hard & I salute all of them. BTW, I listed Rossi 1st!! Lol!

MotoGP » Lorenzo: We'd like to be closer to Marquez

@ Shamrone, "breaking news: even if by some miracle ezpleta allows them to participate (and that's one big IF)...? there will still only be 2 factories participating." True, Ducati will be fighting to stay ahead of RDP & ESP this year, which for a factory, hardly constitutes participation for the title. I do feel bad for Nicky. All the hard work & loyalty he exudes, all the while the machine isn't where it needs to be. Here's hoping he finds a way back onto a satellite RC or maybe an M1 when his contract ends.

Wish the official site would provide more than just 20-30 seconds of each rider! Anyways, these times being "unofficial", and the fact that there was no mention of the consistency of any of the riders, save for Jorge's 13 lap simulation, very little can be assumed from this test. If B-Stone is influenced in any way from outide sources, I certainly hope they look closely at the M1, being that they've been slightly behind the RC in every test thus far. I'm totally for attempting to keep things "interesting" & fair, but B-Stone have data from all manufacturers & must choose something that's accommodating. They should try to help Ducati a little bit if it helps to ensure they stick around for a few more seasons. Hate to see only 2 factories participating. Although Suzuki may be coming back. Fingers crossed!

Also, I wonder if it's true that Bridgestone is being influenced by Dorna to make a tire suitable for a specific machine for the sake of "The Show". Wouldn't it be grand if both B-stone & Michelin were available for teams to choose from each race? There could still be a control tire, but just that a decision would need to be made following the 1st day of practice which make they'd use. Hmmm, maybe I'm crazy?!
