WSBK » Haslam to have surgery, race in doubt

@Jim Scott You do realize that these bikes have had tons of horsepower since the turn of the century and would be unrideable without the electronic aids don't you. Most guys would take it as the rider is just on it giving it throttle and the bike rides itself, or thinking that removing electronics will restore riders like Rossi to the throne.Neither are true. even your car has electronics and so does your road going bike if you have one. In my opinion the main problem for bmw is they do their electronics in house as opposed to the other teams using the Magnetti Marelli systems that have been around longer. Electronics don't make a bike uncrashable, and tires have a lot more to do with that than you know. I seriously doubt he was engine breaking around the final corner at PI.

MotoGP » Ben Spies: 'Scary' Stoner can be beaten

casey's pr problem is when he started to beat rossi in 07, all you guys attacked him for everything he did for beating unbeatable yellow god. rossi relied on this to enhance his head games but stoner still went on to win the title that year. he raced ther first version of the ktm 125cc and took a win on it and he never got factory equipment in 250cc to compare against his rivals. apples and oranges. Hailwood beat Ago on equal kit. stoner has had some tough teammates to beat since the switch to 800's Capirossi, melandri, hayden and then dani and dovi. But he showed he was the business. Hate him if you like but you hate him for beating rossi same as jorge same as hayden.

MotoGP » Rossi: Stoner, Lorenzo ahead but podium possible

Stoner won the title his first year on the full on factory bike at both Ducati and Honda. Lorenzo won the title his first year on the FULL ON FACTORY bike that only Rossi was allowed to have for so many years, but failed to repeat against Stoner while putting up one hell of a fight. Rossi failed to mesh with the 800cc factory ducati the same as Marco Melandri and struggled to 7th. So humpty dumpty had a great fall and all the kings horses and all the kings men bought him a bike off of amazon. com since he couldn't build one like we thought he could now 2 faster factory bikes 1 slower factory bike(suzuki)and 3 satellite motogp bikes (aoyama, depuniet, elias)are gone and the rest are CRT and he is saying how much he has improved already!

MotoGP » Cyber war? Repsol Honda compare Stoner, Rossi stats

I will help you figure it out. The point is not who was the best rider 10 rears ago. It is, who is the best rider right now. When comparing ducati performances Stoner, when comparing 800cc championships they are even.Wins Stoner on the 800 stoner, wins on 990 rossi but Stoner only raced one season of 990 that season Rossi won 5 races, Rossi s daddy was a rich gp racer so he spent his entire career on the best kit and tires. That was something Stoner never had until Ducati(tires wise in 2007, because the other ducatis have done nothing). Rossi used to find those extra few tenths every weekend in morning warmup because of his skill and the great jerry burgess(actually overnight custom tires.)since 2006 Stoner has won more races, poles and fastest laps. but rossi does nice wheelies and sometimes gives pillion rides to a guy dressed like a chicken, which is more relevant and determines the better rider?

MotoGP » HRC: 1000cc only unleashed in 5th and 6th gears

good knowledgeable last few comments. but still some guys thinking if there was no TC rossi will win. motogp is supposed to be the pinnacle of technology in motorcycle racing. no matter what engine displacement and configuration they will still surpass the previous best performances within a few years in terms of speed and horsepower.Street bikes have tc but u think motogp shouldn't because apparently u guys think that tc came out of nowhere in 2007 and helped casey win the title that year. rossi was one of the first riders to use it. it has steadily improved over the years and eventually in a few years we will be able to get the same package off the showroom floor. Bautistas 250 had TC on it. Kallio's KTM had Kers(hybrid technology)TC is here to stay, and i bet that seamless trans will be on road bikes in a few years as well.

MotoGP » Team stability key for Ben Spies

@motojunky you said the yamahas and hondas will have a glitch and ducati will have the advantage?!?!?!? Are you serious bro? At least they are working with a proven design they are familiar with and built themselves and have already paced the tests on by the way. The ducati has no referrence data whatsoever other than Carlos Checa and its an FTR. They didn't even build it! So will they have a guy like the Ohlins guy there to setup the bike for Rossi and they already have a performance cushion? Good luck with that prediction. I admire your loyalty to Rossi, but this is a Ben Spies thread and no, the ducatis won't beat casey, jorge, dani or ben and they will have their hands full with crutchlow bautista and dovi probably finishing in front of them regularly.

MotoGP » Why the MotoGP weight limit changed

@minimalist Michelin had a contract with Yamaha to provide the factory team with tires They were promised their factory teams by Dorna. Rossi wanted Casey's bridgestone tires, guess what happened, domino effect then pedrosa who had Nakano test them on his gresini bike with factory kit so they could have data for him then switched mid season then next thing you know bridgestone is the spec tire supplier. Rossi has pull because he is the Dorna media darling. They did suffer due to his injury in 2010 and even more since the titanic left port bound for new york(switch to ducati, 80 seconds) So I am agreeing when you guys say that Rossi has more marketability than Jorge Casey and Dani,Rossi is the face of motogp at the moment, but smiling and doing wheelies or riding around with a giant chicken is not being the best racer.Carmelo sees Rossi as the goose that laid the golden eggs. So like the banks and insurance companies that caused the financial crisis. They cannot afford to have him fail.a

MotoGP » Why the MotoGP weight limit changed

2006! 2007! 2010! 2011!until infinity the years to come will have something similar in the outcome no matter how many rules get changed at the last minute. HRC will redesign the chassis to incorporate the weight. So if you misinterpret the vote does it stand as a rule or not. How can it be misinterpreted at all? there are only like 5 voters not thousands or millions!!Sounds like the oil companies trying to explain why gas prices can't be any cheaper despite the obvious fact that they can.

MotoGP » Why the MotoGP weight limit changed

@ninja Tha answer is never. Pedrosa(, collarbones, hand fingers ankles) Stoner(blocked from joining yamaha in 2006, scaphoid, the injury that ended kevin schwantz's career, illness) Lorenzo(ankles both at the same time actually, collarbones, leg, hand, detuned satellite bike, michn tires, no data sharing) all had injuries the years they were on the 800s when Rossi won and he tried everything to prevent JLo getting equal equipment, only Rossi can set up a bike in 80 seconds so the wall was put up and the youngster kept on winning in spite of no sharing, LOL! does that tarnish his titles the way you infer to tarnish the titles of Stoner and JLo? We know why the rules changed after the bike was built, don't we? EDIT by CRASH.NET: Please, no hijacking.
