MotoGP » Dovi: Top four ride in a completely different way

TrueFan: Most of them drop out of school so they can spend more time practising to follow their dream. Cut them all some slack.
I am sorry but what a load of cobblers and certainly naieve to the n'th degree. No slack needs to be cut and certainly no excuse because most of them dropped out of school, which I am sure is also nonsense. None of these guys are brain dead and most of them are young guys who have grown up watching this sport in its modern presentation. They know full having come through the ranks that financially you can't make it alone and others have to put lots of money in to make the racing happen. They also know full well that there is an obligation to the people who pay your salary be it sponsor and/or fan.

MotoGP » Spain MotoGP - Qualifying (1) Results

As much as I like Scott Redding and I do, I am hoping that he is learning a bit of humility. The claims in the past of wanting to be the top of the Open Honda and that meant beating Nicky Hayden was pretty disrespectful to the others on the bike. I am actually very pleased to see Karel Abraham getting to grips with it and I hope he repeats his success of Argentina in Spain and ahead of Scott - again. I do wish Scott well but it seems that he has been a bit dismissive of too many others. I am sure the flag wavers will not like this but c'est la vie

MotoGP » Pedrosa poised to pass Barros on all-time points list

@rattle - you are of course 150% right but you had best not go there. There seems to be little support for the notion that to finish first, first you have to finish. This site of full of people trying to justify their favourites or vilify the riders they don't like using the "He only got it because ... rider x and rider y did this that and the next thing". It's all nonsense. In the overall scheme of things people win titles, races, qualifying etc because they deserve them. Dani is a great talent, no question. He has not won a MotoGP world title and it is unlikely that he ever shall.

MotoGP » Podium is 'something special' for Ducati and Dovi

What bad Ducati reputation? They have done nothing wrong, used what is available to them and everyone else to the best of efficiency, through smart thinking and they have the coolest brand in the paddock. Because the others are not smart enough to have used the tools available is a poor reflection on them and nothing else. It's like the people who hate Valentino Rossi. You can try and deny it to yourself all you like but the fact remains that he has been the best thing to happen to Moto GP in its history and Ducati are the only factory whose brand actually carries any passion with it.

@lukeyt750 "If the factory yamaha's didn't have the problems they did - or Cal on the other duc he would've got 5th or 6th. Well done on the 3rd - even if it wasn't a true 3rd." and if my Auntie had test . icles then she'd be my Uncle. Your statement is irrelevant. As the old saying goes - to finish first, first you have to finish. On the day the Ducati team was better than the Yamaha team if for no other reason than they didn't make mistakes and thus finished ahead of them as well as the Hondas of Bautista and Bradl.

MotoGP » Official: Ducati goes Open class for MotoGP 2014

jambop: Well I prepare for a flaming after my post! I can fully understand why Ducati are doing this but what they are doing is a totally under hand cheap shot at winning something. This is not in the spirit of what the open class was meant to be about in my book ...others may disagree. They will be taking a full works machine into the open class shame on them. As a manufacturer they agreed by the terms of the works and open class qualification only to jump ship The open class should be about non works teams trying to develop their bikes on a budget not about multi million £ a year teams trying to win something on the sly! Ducati have plenty of opportunity to develop their bikes in testing just in the same way Honda and Yamaha will flame away :)
I don't see how you can really arrive at that conclusion as they have done everything by the book. In fact it could be argued that they are now two tests down on the other Open class competitors. The open class Honda

MotoGP » ‘F****d!’ - Valentino Rossi ‘surprised’ by tyre decision

TrueFan - on what basis can you claim ANY knowledge at all about the contents of the control software? Something that you read on Wikipedia doesn't count by the way. Given that a large percentage of the efficiency losses in an engine are down to friction, heat and noise how do you, with your inside knowledge, acknowledge that the control software is effecting these parameters over the others. Magnetti Marelli by the way are not some kind of Mickey Mouse outfit.
