MotoGP » FIM launches review after Rossi-Stoner incident

If, and I mean if, what Rossi said is true, that he wasn't even trying to overtake Stoner, then here's what happened. Rossi was surprised to find Stoner braked early and tried to avoid him by going inside, tighter than his normal racing line. Usually, when you go in tight, then you'll need to go wider at the exit, but in Rossi's case, Stoner was right on his side. This forced him to keep his line tighter than his tyres can hold at that particular speed and track grip. The rest is history. IMHO, Rossi didn't make an overly ambitious move. He was just forced to take a tighter line. That's all.

MotoGP » Rossi 'sorry' for Stoner clash, lost opportunity

Was Stoner trying to give Rossi a "brake check" ala Laguna Seca. Since Rossi said that he wasn't even trying to pass Stoner? I guess Stoner is pi$$ed with himself for not braking harder after Rossi went inside him. Otherwise, Rossi would've fallen in front of Stoner and Stoner would've get away unharmed and have the last laugh. But instead, he tried to keep up with Rossi. The irony is, Stoner has become a victim of Ducati front end problem even after he moved to Honda.

MotoGP » Rossi takes out Stoner in Jerez race!

I guess the reason why Rossi took such a gambling move was because he still doesn't have the confidence on the bike. Despite the improvement in handling, he knew that his competitors couldn't be fast enough merely because of the wet track. If he was riding an M1, he would've waited for a little longer for the better opportunity to over take. Hell, he'd waited till the last laps before.
