MotoGP » MotoGP Portugal - Race results

@New, I watched MotoGP (500cc then) since WR-KS-MD time. My bad, I should have written "the closest racing from the current generation racers". There's not too much paint swapping between them (what do you expect from them?). But can you recall any race in which 2 racers are within 0.5 sec of each other from the very start of the race, and last until a few laps before finish. Even JL's pit board showed 0 sec distance between him and DP all the time. I agree with all posters who said it is too early to write off Stoner. He had a bad weekend, that's all. But the great news is, Rossi is almost there. Faster than I've predicted. Watch for him at the next round. Anybody who write Spies off. Didn't you see Spies went off the track twice? Obviously something is wrong with his bike. Brake or something.

Probably the closest racing ever. Kudos to Lorenzo, I take back everything bad I said about him. Withstanding all the pressure Pedrosa gave him almost the whole race, without making serious mistake. Also great race from Pedrosa. Finally got the guts to outbrake Lorenzo and took the win. Both didn't make a single mistake the whole race. Watching them was like watching 2 racing robots (if there's such a thing), taking the EXACT same racing line and braking point, every single lap. Could be better if Simo didn't crash tho... Better luck next time Rossi, Dovi's was a smart and well executed pass. You should have known, Honda is still better than Ducati. Saying that, Rossi did a great job defending Dovi almost all the way, although it was not as intense as the JL-DP fight.

MotoGP » Rossi: I don’t want rain!

Southerner, of course we know where you stand. But kudos, a very intelligent observation. To the other poster, I don't believe that rain is "the leveler". As a matter of fact, racing in the rain requires a quick decisions on the bike settings plus different sets of riding skills (i.e. finding your limit in the wet track), both of which require talents. That, in it's own, an interesting aspects to watch.
