MotoGP » Valentino Rossi celebrates first Ducati podium

The reason I'm Rossi's fan is because, unlike Schummacher, Rossi doesn't totally dominate the sport. From time to time he would have a tough opponents. Biaggi, Gibernau, Stoner, Lorenzo, Pedrosa who can beat him. And at times he had some problem with his own machine (2006, 2007). His divorce with Honda and Yamaha. Watching his race career is indeed so interesting. And now he's in a team with the backward record for the last 3 years. So he's struggling to just keep up with them. It will only add to the thrill. If you can not appreciate that, then I don't know if you like MotoGP at all.

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi celebrates first Ducati podium

The podium is gifted? I wonder why nobody said that about Lorenzo in Jerez? Statistic numbers speak louder than race-by-race break downs. Example: Doohan is considered a legend because he has 5 WCs, but nobody bother to say that he didn't have a worthy opponent in all those 5 years (Criville??? Seriously?). So, gifted or not, in the end, years from now, people will only see numbers. If Rossi could finish 3rd in this season, then it is a progress, considering Stoner's achievements of 2nd(2008), 4th(2009) and 4th(2010). Let's not forget that in 2010, Pedrosa and Rossi were in bad shape (meaning Stoner should've finish better).

MotoGP » French MotoGP, Le Mans - Race results

It is just sad that a couple of weeks ago I said that Pedrosa is smiling more and more lately, and now this. @Mark, It's not Rossi who got lucky at Jerez, it's Lorenzo, with Stoner, Rossi and Simo, all fell in front of him. Otherwise, he'd finish 4th or 5th. Come to think of it, Lorenzo should be really really worried because Rossi beat him twice (Jerez, before he fell and Le Mans), on a considered inferior bike. Hmmm... isn't Ezpeleta a Spanish name? Would that explain why Simo got the ride thru penalty and Lorenzo not? @monster, as far as I'm concern, BLOCK PASS is when you pass another rider from the INSIDE and push him out at the corner exit or block him in the middle of the turn. Glad that Stoner finally get the marshals' push he really wanted.

MotoGP » FIM explains 2012 MotoGP 'Claiming Rule'

Okay, my first post made me sound like I don't like more riders on the grid. Let me rephrase that. What the MotoGP need is more competitive riders to fight up front, not the side show riders which might be dangerous to the title contenders. First priority would be to control how teams can compete fairly, cheaply and with technology available for the satellite team too. More riders would be able to compete at the front. That would make MotoGP more interesting.
