MotoGP » First pole for Cal Crutchlow in hectic Assen qualifying

The quality of posting on this site gets worse and worse. You used to be able to come on here and have a decent mature adult debate with knowledgeable people about the sport. What you get now is purile rubbish from people (in some cases probably with the mentality of a 5 year old child) who know nothing about the sport and don't want to attempt to generate any sort of decent discussion. Its a shame . It puts you of posting anything now.

MotoGP » Rossi and Yamaha 'growing up' every race

@steve99 you are totally correct. He looks like he is holding back and doesn't look that confident yet. I don't think he is riding it a its full potenti yet but I feel that once he establlishes it s limits or gets the correct set up he will be back at the front. Bear in mind Cal Crutchlow is in his 3rd year on that bike , knows it inside out and is confident.on it Rossi. I don't reckon he has lost anything in the way of speed or racecraft I reckon in the period he has been away from yamaha the bike has changed to suit lorenzo's requirements and he is trying to establish its limits without falling off and risking injury

MotoGP » Rossi and Yamaha 'growing up' every race

The most sensible comments have heard re Rossi were on bbc coverage of motogp from Michael Laverty. He said that for 2 years the bike has evolved around lorenzos riding and his unique style makes if difficlut for anyone elso to ride. Slowly but surely Rossi will get the bike set up the way he wants possibly last quarter of season and then he will be a serious contender. I donlt go with all this Crutchlow stuff he would have the same issues on this bike. I don't think there is alot of difference bewteen the tech 3 and the factorty machine. I think in many ways the tech 3 would suit Rossi better it seems to turn in to corners better.

MotoGP » Mugello: Rossi without a tow, third row

this qualification system is a joke. Every rider is on the track at the same time where as before riders came in to the pits and then went out when there was clear track. Watching it on tv you could clearly see riders following other riders around to gain time with the tow. marquez and hayden followed rossi for 2 laps. It almost becomes a 15 minute mini race the 1 hr session i feel always brought the best riders to the top rarely did you see riders using the slipstreamthey qualified on their own speed this is a lottery this system.

MotoGP » Le Mans: Valentino Rossi 'A good result thrown away'

The qualifing process doesn't seem to suit Rossi. He is always having to come from 5 back. I seem to remember 3 ,4 years ago he was always vying for pole. Until he sorts this he will struggle as marquez is quick from the word go. Rossi is still the cash cow in Moto GP though. Their isn't another rider on the grid that can touch in marketability terms. Dorna are quaking at the thought of him leaving hence trying to ceate some sort of artificial interest by bring in Espargot. I f Simonceilli had still been around him and Marquez that would have created an amzing rivalry. I fear that when rossi goes the support for MotoGPwill drop significantly. I think al those on this site talking about Crutchlow should have been in Rossi's seat need a reality check, . Your are not going to create interest in the series with guys like him . he is no mor e than a journeyman rider

MotoGP » Repsol Honda signs Pedrosa, Marquez until 2014

I agree with Marikson. MotopGP at the end of the day is about selling a product that specators and ultimately sponsors will want to buy into. At the moment its dying on its feet. After 5 or so laps you might as well turn over to another channel. CRT was brought in to bring down costs but to be honest its not working. There are 2 races within 1 race in fact there are 3 races within 1 .They need to get more manufacturers Suzuki, kawasaki etc in to the sport and make it cheaper for them to produce proper factory bikes and on the back of these satllite bikes. F1 went through this and now is a proper racing spectacle ie., the smaller teams now have a chance of winnin races. Its also crucial that Ducati get a competative bike sorted. Whether you like Rossi or not he is the man sponsors want to see and want to see at the front and Dorna know this . Simoncelli would taken this mantle but sadly he has gone. I would have rather seen Marquez on a satelite bike for a year

MotoGP » Rossi, Stoner joke about Jerez 2011

Having watched the coverage of the lemans grand prix again last nght and Stoners interview you sense he has is leavibg with a real chip on his shoulder and most of this is directed toward Ducati. I think he will regret it. Its a real shame as once you leave you can never come back at the same level look at Schumaker.Someone posted above however that in the wet the bike is taken out of the equation and it tis down to rider ability. The 3 top riders are still Lorenzo, Stoner , Rossi . All the other guys nowhere to be seenwhen If you got Rossi on a good bike Moto GP would be brilliant week in week out . You would see this stuff every week. I think Stoners advisers need to get him to look at this again as MotoGP cannot afford to lose him

MotoGP » Sepang II MotoGP test times - Thursday 6pm

Testing is just what it says don't raed too much into these times. You try things out, you change them. Its not just about a fast lap. The pace you run at over a race distance is slower than that over a flying lap. The 1 lap flying qaulifying in MotoGP is not as important as F1 as overtaking in racing is more common. These times are not that relevant all they show is the fastest lap that a rider has put in. Its how quick you sustain speed over 20 laps that count not one quick lap. Fuel , tyres come into play. These guys are also running pre determined programmes set by the engineers and have a number of things to test over the 3 days. Top speed is not the most important
