F1 » Ecclestone primed to tackle manufacturers with mandate

@Seakay F1 is a manufacturers testing exercise and the only reason companies spend so much money is to sell more product and to develop new technologies. The sporting spectacle is a mere sideshow and has been for at least 20 years. It is absolutely 'delusional' to think otherwise and to suggest slurs on my character because I simply stated undeniable fact also speaks volumes!!! :-) Calling people delusional because they don't subscribe to your point of view speaks volumes. However.. The problem is the general direction that F1 has taken over the last few years ie the need to provide relevance to road going vehicles and be seen as 'green'. The offshoot of this ridiculous mission is that it's been forced into the hands of major suppliers due not only to the massive costs but also the resources available to them. Without wishing to state the obvious, if they had left it alone years ago and not insisted on strangling it's roots, then we would have a handful of independent engine supplie

F1 » Ecclestone primed to tackle manufacturers with mandate

@Seakay, there is a certain irony in your post. To paraphrase, (leave one final legacy to the sport it will be in finally convincing the teams that these piddly little v6 electrically assisted engines (which are nothing more than a platform for manufacturers and marketeers to promote their individual brands) So just explain to me why any company would spend inordinate amounts of money, if it wasn't to promote their brand. I think you are somewhat delusional if you think F1 is put on for your enjoyment?????

MotoGP » Second fastest Crutchlow still unsure

We have 1 second covering the first 17 riders, we have a 9 times world champ 0.3 off of fastest time yet sitting in 9th, we have Redding on a new bike 0.6 off double world champ Marquez and we have Cal 0.09 off the same double world champ, I accept everyone has their favourite and supports them but to criticise riders for the current results in FP3 is idiotic at best and shows a total lack of respect and understanding. EDIT by CRASH.NET! Please do not attack other posters.

MotoGP » Redding pleased about Silverstone return for MotoGP

I think those stating Donington is a better spectator circuit are remembering with rose tinted spectacles. I remember dreadful muddy piles of the weirdest earth (stained your boots for months), apalling catering and unbelievable queues to get in and out. As for questioning Scott's ability as a rider? I give up. Have half of you idiots ever watched a Motogp or Moto2 race in the past 5 years??

F1 » FIA bans driver performance radio messages

I have finally come to the conclusion that so many of the posters on here don't actually watch F1. I agree with the ban, it doesn't go far enough. So far this year I have heard engineers in the pits telling drivers when to change gear, where to turn into a bend and how much throttle to use?? Surely no one can agree that is acceptable?? As for some on here having a go at Lewis, hold on a minute aren't you all howling for blood on other threads where you categorically state he should be sacked for ignoring his pit messages?? Can't have it both ways guys! (If you all think it through logically, the reason we here more of Lewis and Nico's messages nips because they are at the front, it isn't just them that get messages from the pits guys??).
