MotoGP » Ben Spies believes in Catalunya turn around

@Md Zane There are those who come here to actually discuss racing and those who come to get a rise from the other posters. It is not indicative of a people of any certain nation, only that there are many ar$es the world over. Also if you think JT has anything to do with anything, you are wrong, because Spies bashing has been an ongoing Euro sport before he ever turned a wheel in SBK. Also a fair majority of the JT hate was prompted by his supporters who constantly berated Spies after he was signed to GP. So feel free to finger point all you like but there is ignorance all over the world, including your country.

MotoGP » Ben Spies believes in Catalunya turn around

Best of luck this weekend Ben! I doubt that having a playboy bunny as a girlfriend over 5 years ago would have much impact on his racing psyche today. Though there may be a connection, as dePuniet has thrown his mount down the road quite frequently since he began dating his playboy bunny. Nonetheless, I imagine that the majority of posters here would endure the same hardships, as they are, to come home to ladies like that!

MotoGP » Ben Spies: Four or five big mistakes

@inconvenience Still banging on are we? Firstly just because you keep repeating that Spies has bad habits, doesn't make it a fact. It is your opinion. Secondly, Dovizioso and Sic each had nearly a decade of experience, at every venue prior to joining the MotoGP grid, and that experience is a huge advantage over what Spies had upon joining the grid. In regards to your Dovi comment, common sense would dictate that a rider with multiple years experience in MotoGP and on a factory mount, would be at a higher level than that of a green rookie with virtually no experience, who is on a satellite mount or in his first year on the factory mount. But if you look at it from a non-biased perspective, which will not be easy for you to do, Spies was able to out perform Dovi and Sic both, when compared to their first two seasons, where they spent a year each on a satellite bike and a factory mount. Points don't lie, and that is the story they tell unequivocally.

MotoGP » Ben Spies apologises after ‘pathetic’ race

@inconvenience I just re-watched the Indy race again and don't see Spies running a vastly different line than the others are. There is clag the size of cobblestones off line, so I don't think that is the place to be. But let's say that he is. Given the vast number of World Championships that are represented on the MotoGP grid, wouldn't another of these amazing riders have noticed his line and used it as well? He was clearly among the fastest, over the entire race weekend, and was not abusing his tires, so why would the others not adapt to his line? It is because he was already on the racing line. I believe the most logical and obvious reasons for his Indy success are that he is on even terms there, from of his numerous wildcard starts, and his familiarity with the humid, sweltering conditions of the US Midwestern summer heat and it's effect on tires. But that may be a too simplistic assessment.

MotoGP » Ben Spies apologises after ‘pathetic’ race

@inconvenience Again, please read this carefully so that there are no misunderstandings, I asked that question, with a number of possible of answers, and you explained your position, which was not one of my suspected replies. I accepted your answer, and moved on. Why are you still banging on about it? Maybe my options did not apply to your views, but those options do fall among the top 5 reasons for the majority of the Spies related hate present on this site. Please note that despite your repeated and unnecessary personal attacks, I just continue to discuss racing.

MotoGP » Ben Spies apologises after ‘pathetic’ race

I actually think Cal put in a courageous performance and battled for the entire race, despite his injury, he did all that one could expect from him.(395 days ago) Yes GoGo these are clearly the words of one bent on diminishing any British rider. I also urged patience for Laverty when he was being blasted, by his own countrymen, in SBK for his performances. Like RawDawg has stated previously, many times, "just because someone had taken issue with Toseland, doesn't mean they had a a problem with all of Britain."

MotoGP » Ben Spies apologises after ‘pathetic’ race

@inconvenience Further breaking down your previous assessment of Spies and his merely fortunate results, that were only due to his weight. How do you explain Indianapolis 2011? The track temperature was high, nearly entire field had problems with tire degradation, and yet Spies finished the race with tires that looked like new, as did Stoner. Would his weight have not pushed the tires into the pavement, more than that of the lighter riders, and therefor advance his tire degradation? It certainly worked against Marco Simoncelli, a larger rider, whose tires were worn to the point that he nearly finished dead last of those running at the conclusion. So please explain what divine intervention occurred in that situation? Once again, your tidy little theory does not quite fit, does it?

MotoGP » Ben Spies apologises after ‘pathetic’ race

@inconvenience Which particular question reflects insecurity? I asked if you would be happier if all the Americans were removed from the grid and even went on to explain that I was using this question, as a gauge to the depth of your hate and its source. A valid question, which the majority of posters here are rather clear in their opinions. Some believe that Cal, Dovi, or Bradl would be great in Spies seat, while others support Spies and some others do not like Americans in general. So my question was and remains valid. There is nothing insecure about being up front and asking a question.
