@JJJ I agree with most of what you said but to produce results in GP2, you must actually race in GP2. Rossi is supposed to be the lead development driver for Caterham, but are they really developing him? He will likely end up racing once a month in WSR again this season. I realize he is young, but he is capable and fast. Instead of wasting a seat on Gonzalez, they should have put him that seat. He is supposed to the future of their team, why not allow him to gain experience and get used to running more frequently? He has already won races against Vergne and Ricciardo, so I see no reason why he would not be ready for GP2. This move is frustrating to me. It is not like GP2 has an enormous amount of title contenders, half the field are pay drivers and not there because of their talent. Rossi has proven himself more than worthy to be in GP2.

Just when Caterham appear that they have their act together, they go and sign two drivers that cannot produce any results. This GP2 team is two wasted seats, that could have been used to produce drivers for the future of the F1 team. I hope Alexander Rossi can break his development contract with Caterham and sign on with another team, because they are holding him back. I can guarantee that Rossi would outscore both of these drivers by himself, simply a pathetic move by the team.

I, for one, hope that they can progress into the midfield. It would be good for the sport to have a newer team actually make progress. They are at least making an effort to improve by bringing in better personnel and partnering with bigger teams to develop the car. The other new teams are complete rubbish and are only putting forth a minimal effort, hardly worthy of even participating at this level. I think all the negative posts would be better served on a HRT or Marussia/Virgin thread, but they didn't even have cars to test now did they?

@Hemmy While I understand what Jarvis previously stated, it seems unlikely that the Tech3 duo will apply much pressure, if any, to Spies. Tech3 were impressive at the initial test, but they will likely fall behind the factory bikes by a fair margin by the time the season begins, as factory updates are already being prepared for the next test. Yamaha's only desire for Tech3 is to be the top satellite team, nothing more. Tech3 also have no factory contracted riders, so the updates will not be a priority and will be paid for by Poncharal when they do come. Given that Tech3 has a smaller budget, after losing the Yamaha North America millions and Dovi not bringing in any sponsorship, they are in worse position than previous years. I believe they will only be given the lone, minor mid season update, as they have always been given in the past. Dovi was only minimally better than Spies on far better equipment, so how can he challenge him on a bike which is far less equal. I can't see it.
