F1 » Canadian Grand Prix – Race results

richard: rob. the overheating was caused by the failure of mgu-k! lack of harvesting caused more rear brake use, as there was no regeneration drag. after lulus problems, nico was told to move balance more to the front, to ease the rear brake pressures.
An electronic component failed, nothing due to the drivers style, purely engineering.

F1 » Wolff: Merc ‘a bit intense internally’

George Zaidan:
Chris1980: I think Damon Hill got it spot on when he said the only one who can beat Lewis Hamilton is Lewis Hamilton.
He has been beaten many times even by his team mate, he has just one WDC the past seven years, and a fluke that one was, but I will not take it away from him. Not being able to come to grips with his demons is not the same as racing other drivers, you can pass on the message to Damon Hill.
How can anyone win a drivers title by a fluke ?

F1 » Rosberg wins as Hamilton fades

Sasha Alexandrovich: As a regular helmet wearing person, it amazes me that something could get so far in the helmet that it got in his eye. The visor is shut all the time. If not, you opened it yourself or didn't shut it properly yourself. There is basically no way that something can get inside otherwise trough vents or under the neck part, unless it blows a hole ion the outer shell itself. I'm with the RTL germany commentators on this one: theatre to excuse poor performance.
Sasha, it has happened to other drivers before, unfortunate but not unique.

F1 » Hamilton surprised by Mercedes pace

Yearby23: Sounds exactly like Marquez in MotoGP. Plays down all his ability and talents during the race weekend saying he's surprised he's fast. And then in-between races he says he expects rivals to be stronger next race. Typical ways of making his achievements seem more hard fought than they are. Only difference is, despite not being a Marquez fan, he's an unbelievable talent on the best bike. Hamilton's a half decent driver and using a car that's more powerful with a better chassis.
Just remember your postings don't reflect on Hamilton, they reflect on you.

F1 » Kate Walker: Sport requires a level playing field

There is one company that sells cars so that they may participate in F1,that company is Ferrari. Hate them or like them they can best be described as the only truly F1 fan among the teams. To get to the crux of the matter competitiveness, it's no different from what is happening in soccer or football or other sports. What presents a rather unique dilema is the fact that F1 and the engineering that it represents requires the best technology etc, none of which is cheap. Would you expect a company, building engines, power systems or other ancilliary equiptment , to agree to an equal share of any outlay as one not so tasked .

F1 » Kate Walker: Sport requires a level playing field

Continued. If there should be the requirement that all teams build their own power systems, engines etc, how many of the non auto manufacturers would be willing to invest in developing expensive items which when used or obsolete had no further value to them. Research costs time and money. How would you fairly compensate say Renault for its current effort versus Mercedes ? When she puts down her pen or tablet Kate's work is done. When manufacturers put down their pens or tablets it's to relax a bit before pressing on to find other or better solutions.
