F1 » Ricciardo excluded from Australian GP

Interesting comments folk, quite enjoyed the race even with the unfortunate early exits. Note to Rich et al re Koba's accepting the blame for the accident. It's a cultural thing, example being an unfortunate incident in New York where a young lady, having fallen on the train track and had her legs severed, apologised for causing the delay that prevented people getting to work on time.

F1 » ‘A lot more to come’ from Hamilton

continued. I regard all who compete in any form of motor sport as brave, competent and talented since my contribution is from a keyboard only and yet I consider myself not lacking as a person. I will refrain from going after teams or individuals . I would be disappointed to find any poster referring to me as a "fanboy" simply for not supporting disparaging or other remarks directed at one "peculiar" driver. Could someone be brave enough to say what really makes him such a target ? I watch Crash. Net daily. If and when there is a topic that piques my interest I will comment otherwise I'll just read.

F1 » ‘A lot more to come’ from Hamilton

B T: I was reading an article about driver rotation across teams during a season. And also considering someone like Sir Stirling Moss could possibly have out driven any car provided. Is he perhaps the best F1 driver ever?
Not the best F1 driver ever but who knows what could have happened if he had not finished his career early he could of gone on even to win a WDC. I know he out drove the great Fangio on many occasions but as Fangio is regarded as one of the best I would say maybe Mossy could go down as the best driver ever not to win a WDC tittle. And maybe the second best Silver Arrows driver in history, after Fangio. Hamilton is miles behind.
Silver Arrows in my recollection referred to German Grand Prix cars including Auto Union and involved drivers such as Rosemeyer and Hans Stuck sr. Stuck jr, even for his brief sojourn in F1 was regarded as brilliant especially in the wet. We can appreciate his skill in road racing . By

seashack: That photo of Lewis on F1 mag.... sigh... and some wonder why people go after him. If he stopped giving people reasons, it would stop, but he doesn't, so it doesn't. The the other thread with PC I mentioned that even his supporters are finding it harder and harder to defend him and one chimed in saying that some are still here, just watching quietly which totally proved my point. Stuff like that photo is also turning some off to him completely, not just watching quietly. The day those voices are silenced completely will be a happy day for those of us who watched F1 long before he came in and will watch when he's gone.
I am still here, quietly watching. I am a fan of motor racing in general, F1 in particular. My favourite drivers include Hans Stuck jr, Stirling Moss, Juan Manuel Fangio, Michelle Mouton and Sabine Schmitz. The Silver Arrows, 917's, Bentley Boys, Alfas have all piqued my interest as has Bluebird and Bugatti Veyron. I know who Big John

F1 » Vettel is the target – Hamilton

Piercarlogassolini: Seashack, you make my point for me. You refer to 'those longtime fans of F1 that can appreciate a good drive no matter the driver' yet the Crash poster of which you are number 1 fanboy demonstrates time and time again his inability to do that, with good grace or otherwise. Your Taipanfanboydom blinds you to the fact that people like me are NOT 'fanboys for one driver' (if anything I am a Williams fan and have never had a driver allegance), and the reason dissenting voices have died down is they've left Crash to discuss F1 somewhere where the predominent sound is well-considered opinion not thinly-veiled jealousy
Some of us still quietly watch.
