F1 » Schumacher ‘shows moments of consciousness’

benignlyindifferent: Who could possibly have disagreed with Taipan's comment?
The same simpering douche nozzle that disagreed with yours. Hiding behind the internet brings out the tough guy in the troll population. Anyway, Like most, I'm hoping this is good news like the majority of the planet. I know people with no concept at all of motorsports, let alone F1, but they know the name Michael Shumacker

Taipan: Richard, Thanks for giving me the low down on what an architect can achieve, maybe you forgot that architecture was where my career began! :p My earlier post was more about humour than fact and I'm well aware that the FiA are more responsible than Tilke for some of the dire tracks but as a chief designer it is his job to make the most of the environment available to him and he hasn't always done that. As someone else stated land re-profiling is possible, I've done it on housing developments so why couldn't he do it for a multi million pound race track? As for COTA I agree great track, but just from looking at it I'd say much of the elevation changes are man made. Although I'd be happy to be proved wrong on that front from anyone who knows better.
Travis County TX has more elevation changes than west Texas. But the tract of land for COTA was pretty flat. They moved millions of yards of earth to build the circuit features.

richard: walrus. obviously I dont know too much about texas, but I do remember when cota was announced and before work commenced, there were a lot of posters on this and other sites who commented on the elevation change and some posted topography details on sites that allow external links. of course , as in all circuits, there would be a large amount of earth moving necessary, but I don't think that the basic topography was changed. maybe rob can advise?
Richard I remember the same comments and videos as the track was built. I think most non Americans vision of Texas is a big flat prairie. But this is south Texas, hill country. I've woke up several times outside of Austin honkey tonks, but haven't been to COTA yet. What I remember from the videos was the long climb to turn one was mostly man made, while other areas were flattened. But I'll defer to anyone who knows more.

F1 » Horner hails ‘fantastic’ Ricciardo despite more bad luck

Taipan: Attn@dmac! So your imaginary championship table is based on all of Dan's problems being caused by RBR but Vettel's problems in Australia weren't RBR's fault? Odd. Attn@ChristianHorner! dmac thinks you're on the fiddle. Attn@Walrus! Na wasn't me, but Lee McKenzie spotted me in a bush behind her at Malaysia (not her bush I should add)
her bush...LOL
