F1 » Smedley: Closed F1 cockpits ‘very easy to implement’

NickSpeaks: What no one seems to be talking about is the martial in the tower directly above the incident waving a green bloody flag! The footage of this shocking accident is on YouTube and the martial can clearly be seen waving a green flag. WTF!
And, could the double yellows have been obscured by road spray, at track level, whilst the elevated marshal's waving green been easily seen? As another poster said, it's not a 'freak accident' if two cars loose control and end up crashing at the same spot.

F1 » Ecclestone unveils Azerbaijan track layout

Carpenter: Another pointless street circuit with 90 degree corners which offers no close racing opportunities and is just a money maker for Bernie. Take the racing to where the fans are and tracks which offer a good spectacle! No French, Dutch, Portuguese GP but we have a Singapore, Azerbaijan, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain GP doesn't make sense to me.
Follow oil production and the princes willing to spend oil money, thats what started this trend. But now, using that formula, Canada should have a race in every Providence, the USA another in North Dakota. Mexico, another big exporter is already on the list.

F1 » What we learned at the Japanese Grand Prix

richard: walrus. and how many hydraulic cranes would be needed for a 5.8 km circuit? and how would they be able to reach all parts of the track ? (an accident can happen anywhere). all tracks would have to have an equal length service road outside the barriers. also, f1 might be able to afford a number of cranes, but unless they were prepared to ship them aound the world, it is the circuits that would have to pay for these. something they already do by hiring in the equipment. also the cars already have special warning lights for denoting the doubl wave yellow (prepare to stop) signal . there is no easy answer to this once in a lifetime problem
Now that the footage is available to all on you tube showing the crazed marshall crazily waving his green flag, as Jules crashes, my point is mute BTW, I've rented a cherry picker, delivered for $1500 a week, that would easily reach over the barriers and pick up a F1 car. They're available everywhere

F1 » What we learned at the Japanese Grand Prix

For all the money that F1 generates, there is plenty of money to have hydraulic cranes out side the crash barriers, vs front end loaders inside. And what about communications technology? The pit knows the tyres are deflated instantly, but we can't instantly warn the drivers a loader is on the track, and where? What was reaffirmed is that profit will always out weigh safety. Jules, to your recovery.

F1 » Vettel to announce next F1 move 'very soon'

Trento: This make Vettel look like a spoilt little prat even more. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Redbull gave him a championship winning car for 3 years in a row, he has one bad year and walks away with his tail between his legs. Where is the loyalty? It's apparently been confirmed that he will drive for Ferrari, which confirms that they had too lost their way. He is not Ferrari material, he's too selfish and ignorant for starters. I doubt he will win anymore fans driving for the prancing horse.
rubbish. these guys are not lorry drivers, they're multi millionaire F1 pilots. loyalty is for the rest of us schmucks trying to build a solid pension. As for fans? do you really think they care? At the end of the day, do you believe whether Seb or Alonzo etc give a rats a3rse that we worship them? c'mon man!

F1 » Vettel leaves Red Bull F1 team

JJ9871011: Looks like SV stole FA's big thunder. With SV and KR together, should be interesting. Biggest loser I think is Button. He will most likely be left out in the cold. KM will most likely stay unless EB has been trying to get RG in that seat pushing both out, but that is likely not going to happen.
don't forget honda claims they have a say in this
