BMW certainly had success in F1 this past season esp. since changing the team dynamics significantly. No idea what you mean by they didn't listen to Kubica since all indications show it is a great relationship.

fastjack. I beleive Kimi first, was responding to comments that he had lost interest, and two, he said if he loses interest he will move on to other aspects of life. I don't recall him saying I've lost interest in F1 and if that were the case Ferrari would be announcing Alonso in that seat very shortly. Kimi has always been calm cool and collected. His indifference to the spectacle that many seem to think is so important gives some the impression that it's not important. I think he's the most down-to-earth guy in F1 and there is no question of the skills. Ferrari certainly isn't questioning it and they know him better than anyone including Murray.

Shakey simply isn't good enough to take a customer bike to the front and consistently defeat the front runners, he's no Troy Corser or James Toseland.

Sad to see it go: it was the one race I looked forward to attending since it was a few hours away. F1 viewership in NA will certainly drop off in light of it's lack of a NA race. I've certainly decided to tune out for various reasons, lack of passing etc. and now this is pretty much the nail in the coffin.

so is this what we can expect for the off-season. A play-by-play of Bernie and his ex-model wife's split. Surely there must be something to report besides this in the motorsport world. This has no impact on F1 whatsoever. None.

Pretty worthless accolade IMO. Does this register in the history books? Nope. The best driver of 2008 is the one who won the title, period. Alonso won it in his championship years. If it's a popularity contest, and that's really all this is, then the Alonso fans basically had more time on their hands than the rest of the fan base. Not really a reflection of a quality season and if it was truly a reflection of driver talent, poise etc. Massa should have won if for nothing else than how he conducted himself at the final race of the year, where despite losing the title within the hour he still congratulated Hamilton on his win. That to me is a true sportsman and worthy of praise.

If it is time for Max to resign so be it but this is not the reason he should resign; this was a personal matter, not a professional matter. No crime has been committed that warrants resignation and the papers will lose on this once Max goes down the slander angle and pushes the potential lost wages if he is forced to resign. Many papers have had to settle these types of defamation of character lawsuits in the past. How many papers are willing to go toe to toe with Max, and Bernie? Is it worth it? Not in the least.

Private life is just that, private. It's easy to mock until someone invades your privacy; the media has a lot of power to sway people's opinions without offering proof. Realisitically the damage is done even if Max is exonerated. That's the power of the media and I'm glad he's fighting it. I'm not a fan of Max, except for his safety improvements but I'm not a fan of invasions of privacy either.
