MotoGP » Casey Stoner plays down lost points

I said Lorenzo for 2012 last year and I'll stick by it, but if Honda have the upper hand at Mugello the momentum has swung. Honda have been helped at the last two races, but if they have the advantage this weekend Stoner probably becomes favourite. In my dreams the trio of them will go to the last round level on points. And Rossi will win a race just for old time's sake :L

F1 » Spa secures three-year stay of execution?

Spa, Monza, Monaco, Suzuka. A British and a German GP (my favourite British track as a spectator is Donington but I understand why so many prefer Silverstone. The Nurburgring is better than Hockenheim in my opinion.) Add on a race in Australia, Montreal, Interlagos and probably a race in the US. This is a core of F1 that I beg them to keep. I can live with whatever else they might do.

F1 » Ecclestone insists London GP '100% no joke'

Bernie fails to understand something. F1 needs this far more than London does. Beyond our happy corner of the world, the vast majority of people don't care about F1, and there is plenty of opposition from those who do like F1. Monace works because it's the biggest event of the year there, F1 in London would be a relatively small fish in a very large pond. It's the same reason that there isn't a race in Paris, Rome or Berlin.

F1 » HAVE YOUR SAY: Who was Great in Britain?

I agree that there should be no DRS next year. What I fear is that we are outnumbered by the more casual viewers who like it. It was an interesting experiment but without it Sunday's last few laps would have been very interesting. Instead, there was little excitement because the result was inevitable. I'm not a fan of the tyres either, if they degrade quickly then fine but it isn't good for racing when a guy suddenly loses four seconds a lap, degradation should be a gradual process.

F1 » HAVE YOUR SAY: Who was Great in Britain?

Webber, Alonso, Hamilton. Vettel was strangely anonymous but I expect him to start generating momentum over the second half of the year. Mclaren look like they're struggling, but it was the same at this point last year. They won in Canada, were slower than Ferrari and Red Bull in Valencia and Silverstone, but they went on to win the next two races so they mustn't lose hope. Webber surprised me with his win, but credit where credit is due he had the edge over Vettel in all conditions. I expect Vettel is stewing about that failure in Valencia even more now. Alonso will be disappointed but he maximises his car so regularly and unless one of the Red Bulls start getting the most out of their car each weekend he'll edge closer to the title.

F1 » Massa close to feeling back to his best

Two or three more races like this around now may well pave the way to a new contract for next yera. Having said that, he had his strongest performances of the year in terms of pace at a similar point in 2011 so he needs to keep this up. With regards to 2008, Hamilton deserved the title, there were 18 races not 5 laps on a damp Interlagos track that decided it. Felipe deserved it too mind you.
