MotoGP » Valentino Rossi withdraws CAS appeal

RC51:
MrQwerty: It seems a bit odd that he has already served a penalty whilst an appeal was in process. Don't suppose it made a difference to the result in Valencia though.
I don't think that you can make that statement with any certainty. Who knows where he would have qualified without the penalty, or where he would have finished.
I didn't make it with certainty, it was a supposition.

richard: you are quite right. it is certainly sad that the lulu fanboys continually attack anyone who does not genuflect to his luliness.
Unfortunately in your rush to troll me you have missed the point. By ad hominem attack on someone's credibility, I do not mean aggression towards said poster, I mean dismissal of their opinion based on who they support. For instance, if you said you believe Vettel to be the best driver of the year, and made points backing that up such as winning three races in a car that was distant second best, being pretty much error-free and containing an admittedly old but improved from last year Raikkonen. If I were to respond by saying you are a Vettel fan and hence your opinion does not matter, then that would be an ad hominem attack on your credibility. When in actual fact, you are a Vettel fan, but that should not detract from the points you've made. Being a Vettel fan in no way undermines your arguments, so it would be wrong of me

loltron: "hater"? despise the term, we're not 12. just beacuse i dont discredit him at every opportunity doesnt mean im a fanatic. i dont bother voting on these and they dont mean anything and its fairly obvious who will win (alonso when he was 2nd best and now vettel, ricciardo last year, etc). by the way crash, this is beyond a joke, my last comment was not "stirring" or targeting anyone, funny how you leave some of the more questionable comments. im sorry that having a neutral viewpoint is seen as heavily favouring someone, you insinuate too much from too little it seems.
Don't worry about it mate. There seems to be some sort of rule that every second comment must contain an ad hominem attack on a poster's credibility rather than actual debate.

Sorry richard, Crash keep deleting my comment. I did not say you were a fan of Vettel over and above the others you mentioned. Merely that you are a fan of him, and there is nothing wrong with that. I discussed the thread topic in my first post, it has drawn no replies yet my comments about 'posters' have had responses, so I am a symptom as much as I am the cause of that complaint. In fact, on the last page, 8 of the posts (2 of them yours) are about posters rather than the topic. And I maintain that you misinterpreted my post: you are talking, it seems, about verbal attacks rather than challenges to credibility. On topic, my top 5 for the year are 1) Vettel 2) Ricciardo 3) Hamilton 4) Grosjean 5) Verstappen. Debate away.

loltron: its good people rate kvyat so highly, only raises ricciardos stock :)
possibly, but he would still be some places behind! at least he would be ahead of stevens and mehri
Damn, Vettel must be stuck somewhere in F3 by that logic.
well then ricciardo would still be cutting his teeth in karts?
Possible, though it doesn't really follow the same train of logic.
