Senna's lucky Maldonado makes so many errors because in terms of pace he's been poor this year but hasn't drawn much attention. Once you consider that Senna was roughly on Petrov's level last year, there are a lot of drivers in F1 that Maldonado is faster than.

Each year I expect a shake up in the driver market, and each year it seems to be pushed back. Ferrari will be either Perez or Massa next year, and if he goes well over the next two races then Felipe may have a new contract by Monza.

I would rather have them there than not, let's put it that way. And as a person, Kartikheyan comes across well, plus he knows his history a lot better than many of his contemporaries, Vettel aside. It's not a big deal, but most current F1 drivers knowledge of the sports past seems to be limited to "Senna was the best."

@ pete tong Stoner had just as much pre season testing as Pedrosa, and all of his was injury free, plus Pedrosa got injured whilst ahead of Stoner in the championship (yes I know, Jerez) Stoner got the better of Pedrosa in the races he did, but to say he humbled him is a bit too far in my opinion. The humbling was what happened to Dovi and Simoncelli who hardly got near him.

No rider can win on a bad bike, the other riders are too good, they exploit any performance advantage. The only really close title fight of recent years was 2009, and that's because Rossi and Lorenzo shared the best bike.

I wonder if he feels home race pressure, he was underwhelming in 2009 and 2011 at home. Having said that they were both at the Nurburgring, and his 2010 pole lap at hockenheim was stunning against a faster Ferrari.
