MotoGP » Casey Stoner - Q&A

@ GPMarkB Insecurity complex :) I'm not a supporter of either, I respect them both as greats. It's odd actually as to diminish Rossi's ability actually reduces the level of Stoner's achievements in comparison. I assume the people who criticise are less fans of Stoner/Rossi, it's more that they just dislike the other, but it's only a minority anyway.

MotoGP » Casey Stoner - Q&A

@ motogps It will never be settled, they cannot be directly compared at their respective peaks. Stoner at his best came when Rossi seemed to be slightly over the hill. Stoner is probably the fastest ever but being the best is more than just pure talent. I think it's good that Stoner is a straight talker, you need all sorts of characters to make the paddock more interesting. The one thing that isn't so great is that he seems to focus on the negative things people say about him too much, but maybe he needs it to drive him. It's just that he says things like how people criticised him early last year, which is true but those people were definitely in a minority, yet it comes across that is what he focuses on, rather than the praise.

MotoGP » Pedrosa: I almost found myself on the floor

@ Guy It pains me to say it, but I don't think Pedrosa wil ever win the title, but I think he's more likely to than any other rider in the field apart from Lorenzo and Stoner. I think Pedrosa will beat Marquez next year, Marquez makes small errors far more regularly than he could get away with against Lorenzo and Pedrosa. Marquez will learn to ride at their level, just as they had to when they were that young.

MotoGP » Lorenzo: Casey was the best today

@ ghost Does that make Doohan not a great rider because he stayed at Honda instead of going to yamaha? I reckon Honda will have the edge at Indy too but if Lorenzo fights back at Brno he would take the title I think, Stoner needs Lorenzo to have another non-score and the guy is absolutely nerveless. If it came down to the last lap of the year between Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Stoner (which everyone would love) I'd put my money on Lorenzo. It looks like the best title fight since 2006, possibly better if they stay close over the next few races.

MotoGP » Pedrosa: I almost found myself on the floor

@ thetruedrbob By that logic, Dovi has more skill than Lorenzo. As for "beaten by his teammate year in year out" Hayden beat a rookie Pedrosa in 2006, then Pedrosa thrashed him for two years. I accept the 800cc was built around Dani, but who is better, Hayden or Pedrosa? the answer is obvious. Now when was he next beaten? by Stoner and Dovi last year when he missed three rounds through injury. To give Dani his dues, he is the only teammate of Stoner's to get near him on a regular basis.
