F1 » Walker: Vettel is one of the greats

Tai, Agree, Murray had really warmed to James Hunt by then and was low in spirits. Jackie Stewart was a good choice to partner him to patiently explain the intricacies of Motor Sport. I found Murray's enthusiasm made the Races (F1 Rally Cross etc) exiting you could imagine him bouncing off the Ceiling!(even with a few Murray bloopers)) Me and the nippers met Murray Walker a couple of times a fair while ago, he come across as a Good Bloke!

F1 » Walker: Vettel is one of the greats

Joat re: your Murray Walker on Master Mind post. I remember Murray being interviewed on TV regarding the facts he brought up during an F1 race. He said he researched the tracks and F1 statistics before each race, you could see post it notes all around his commentary box. He always stands when commentating. Given the information he provided whilst his "Trousers were on Fire" during the race, I found his commentary brilliant. I don't think he ever claimed to have a good memory!
