F1 » Mercedes calling for increased Red Bull sanction

I've been watching this for a while, here's another option to consider. What would happen if DR and RBR had followed the directive and finished somewhere mid field. Then RBR disputed the data and effectiveness of the fuel flow meter which has been acknowledged as incorrect. What should the FIA do? They have in effect influenced the outcome of the race, by not allowing the car race on its merits. Would they review the data then recalculate the times to remove the handicap? Just wondering..
