MotoGP » Jerez Testing Times – Friday

RealRacingCampaign: All this just goes to show what I've said for years... Level the playing field with tyres, & take away a huge advantage with electronics & data.... And you'll see that the aliens are human after all. In other words, if Dorna ever had the vision, the balls & the desire to genuinely level the playing field..... That the number of race winners in a season would double or even triple, while the number of podium finishers would be even higher. Redding & Petrucci on privateer bikes, & Rea & Sykes on WSBK kit are able to show what they can do, & put the frighteners on mighty HRC. How can they do this? Simple. Take away HRC's vast data library away to set up the electronics & there you have it. Give HRC time to get their data army to build a new library, & they can buy their way back to the front dud to the complexity of the spec ECU. Basically it's politics & money that dictate race pace, & electronics is the tool that delivers the control over pace. I wish it was not so.
It is interesting the difference new tyres and electronics have made, there are so many rules and restrictions in MotoGP limiting innovation and developement that the series has become all about adapting to the standard tyres and developing software. When there is a change it makes the slower guys look better and I am sure there would be more winners if they all had the same machinery but still the same championship winner.

MotoGP » ‘Time is a gentleman’ in Marquez, Rossi rift

Look we all heard Rossi's complaints and we all saw the races, maybe MM did block him maybe he didn't, at the end of the day it doesn't matter, team mates help team mates and riders from the same country help each other, we saw Italians seemingly moving over for Rossi, there are no rules against it and there never will be because you could never prove it and it doesn't matter anyway. I personally don't think it was a factor but in any case Rossi might just as well be complaining about the other riders drinking too much coffee or wearing the wrong coloured underwear - equally irrelavent. It is very strange to see Rossi complaining however since it is normally him that has the borderline tactics and other riders are doing the complaining!

MotoGP » Official: Casey Stoner returns to Ducati

Hope it piques his interest again and we see him in a few races, he did very well while he was there, better than the other riders I guess - even Dovi thinks he was the one to beat - Codger - although can't remember where I read it. However there were and are a lot of fast riders and he didn't always have it his own way even at his peak, maybe except his championship years. Coming out of retirement for a few wildcard races and getting a good result may not be too easy.

@RRC - I hold the same position, I have over the years become a fan of not Rossi, he is not a sportsman by any stretch of the imagination. But MotoGP has become a business and money talks, Rossi has had special treatment over the years because of this but he has pushed the envelope too far and this year he has become an embarrassment. No one really seems to know what to do about him.

Hilarious, Rossi's plan to win the championship was fiendishly simple. All he had to do was manipulate his main rivals into not racing him so "he and Jorge could fight it out" - and we are talking the Hondas - and then he had won the title because the obvious truth was that he had enough points that he didn't need to beat Lorenzo to win. But Pedrosa and more especially MM just wouldn't co-operate - and didn't Rossi spit the dummy over it!

Think MM handled himself well this year on and off the track, the only disappointment is that he actually cares what Rossi thinks, but really I believe he is a nice guy and can't help himself. I think Rossi showed appalling sportsmanship on and off the track. Disappointed neither of my two favourite riders managed a win this year - oh well maybe next year - good luck to Crutchlow and Miller. Well done Jorge and Dani, great performances - carefull you don't get sucked into Rossi's crazy world Jorge - it could ruin your focus and it's not a good look.

RealRacingCampaign: ......Even that would not stop him spoiling JLs title day by beating him to the win if he could. MM would if at all possible have tried to go into the off-season at the top with a win, & with both his 2 strongest rivals behind him. It makes no sense whatsoever for MM to sacrifice the psychological advantage of a Valencia victory to aid a deadly rival. NONE! If Rossi's fertile mind hadn't germinated & spread that conspiracy seed for his fans to nurture, no-one would have jumped to any of the conclusions they drew for PI or Valencia IMO. IMO the above outline is far more likely than some very dodgy, unsubstantiated, fabricated conspiracy theory. But as I said, people believe what they want to believe, not what the information & logic suggests to be most plausible.
Totally agree, but not sure Rossi really believed his own theory - just more of his mind games or maybe he really is a bit deluded
