MotoGP » Lorenzo: I'll give everything to get this title

Oli: "Put the events at Sepang behind him"...? So he should. The 'events' everyone is referring to were none of his business.
You obviously have a very narrow perspective or a short memory! he was in a title fight showdown with Rossi and Rossi accused him of cheating and colluding with MM, what was he to do - look the other way and pretend it didn't happen or just accept Rossi's unbelievable claims?

Realist: I've never liked J.Lo as a rider, but I've always respected him as a racer. Now I can't even respect him as a racer after his latest antics.
I don't like the way he slowed down and moved another rider to the edge of the track and then boot the boot in on lap 7, turn 14. No one can respect a rider like that. And why should they?
Just to be clear.... ..that would mean that you also lost all respect for Stoner after he punched RdP, right? I mean, nobody can respect a rider like that, right? The punch makes Rossi's slow block pass look rather insignificant.
Depuniet nearly caused a nasty accident, and never took offence at the "punch" it was a "wake up and stay off the race line if you are only going slowly reminder during practice" and suspect he would have been a little embarrassed at his error. Somewhat different ......

Thejester: Off course you want to put them behind you they've helped you loads sticking your big big nose in stabbing your team mate in the back shame on you "sack him Yamaha !!!!!!!" give Bradley smith his job
No, as above, his team mate had already ambushed him in an unbelievable outburst in the media conference, he is a competitive sportsman, do you expect him to take Rossi's accusations and turn the other cheek? The gloves were off when Rossi made those claims or have you not been following the events? Seems like bad behaviour is accepted from Rossi by his fans, indeed they are blind to his failings....

Realist: "Attack" is a strong word. Casey Stoner punching another rider, for example, is an attack.
I watched both of the last two races in question, and I didn't see this Casey Stoner fellow attack anyone. Heck, I didn't even see him on the track.
Realist is referring to the incident between Stoner and Randy de Puniet in morning warm up at Le Mans in 2011. Stoner punched de Puniet on track, but he was only fined and I don't think it was even that much, only £4,000 I think. Basically Stoner's behaviour was far worse and an actual, visible, impossible to deny lash out at de Puniet that was a clear violation of rules.
And "an old timer" is saying that is ancient history and not relevant to the current discussion. De Puniet was in a dream and could have caused an accident, Stoner didn't hit him hard and De Puniet didn't take offence or lay a complaint.

MotoGP » Rossi wants Lorenzo title fight 'on equal terms'

Yeah the " Kick " was a bit wrong and a bit calculated but that's racing ........ Moving on, Rossi is pretty well connected, I am thinking he wouldn't have even bothered with the CAS appeal if he didn't already know he had the numbers to pull it off, wonder who will be making the judgement and what there form is - because of course that unfortunately is how things go down in the world.

MotoGP » Rossi wants Lorenzo title fight 'on equal terms'

RealRacingCampaign: I think Marquez with his battle with Rossi is considering it a personal grudge match. He is young, brash & arrogant, & will have the self belief that he is better than Rossi. MM wants it made very clear by beating Rossi at his own games, by outriding him. Actually Marquez is feeling just how Rossi intended - & all you Yellow apologists ought to understand that, as Rossi has gone out of his way to make it 'personal' with EVERY strong main rival he has ever had - part of his off track mind games & low tricks to get into his rivals head & destabilise him. Trouble is, this time Rossi's head games have broken like a wave on a cliff, & instead of breaking the young rival, Rossi's digs, insults & threats have given Marquez more steely resolve to show Rossi who is better & faster. I think we saw the evidence of that resolve in the early laps in Sepang - not some loony conspiracy nonsense, & it was Rossi who broke & not Marquez. Rossi had it coming. Karma's a B1tch.
I am afraid that Rossi may have the numbers with CAS to manipulate the situation.......

ArnieO: It's sad for Rossi because he will leave this sport in one of the worst possible way al legend of his sport say goodbye to his game. This would have been his chance to put the icing on the cake before finally hanging his helmet up, but he blew it.. Like Warren Buffet said "It takes 20 years to build a reputation and 5 minutes to ruin it"
He went a bit off the rails but I really think it will blow over in a couple of months.

Hardly 'ancient history', it was 4 years ago. Let me get this straight, you're saying that it's acceptable to do anything to another rider as long as they don't mind?
It's not pertinent to the current discussion, and it was no big deal, No one is saying it's acceptable, but I really think he was just "waking him up" if he had been run into the back of at that speed they would have both ended in hospital, Depuniet did something dangerous, Stoner made him aware - that was it, there was no attempt to gain an advantage.

JedPB67:
AnOldTimer: Rossi's fans accuse Jorge of being the most boring racer ever for running away at the front. He is called a coward or...............away at the front. He is called a cheater for being willing to fight for position.
The people that make these comments are not fans, they are beyond that or less than that depending on your view. You cannot be a fan if you do not respect the riders competitors. However, I will say that Marquez was only fighting for position in Sepang because he wanted to be fighting for position. He was faster than Rossi all weekend, considerably faster. A point many people have overlooked is that Marquez rode those 7 laps of the GP as if it were the final 2 laps. No racer does that, it's illogical, especially against someone like Rossi." He didn't ride them any harder than Rossi and in the context of Rossi's previous unsubstantiated allegations and name calling I don't blame him. He owed Rossi no favours that is for sure!
