F1 » Wehrlein tops final F1 test as McLaren struggles

SkidCarrera: I had the same kind of thoughts as fullofit when I saw the headline. F1 cars are definitely easier to drive than in years gone by. Maybe superstar drivers are no longer needed, as many young rookies are demonstrating.
Button, Vettel, Alonso, Kimi all on 15m a year plus and struggled to get near the podium this year, proof that employing the very best drivers at huge cost is completely pointless these days if they don't get the right car. OK the car had always been important in F1 but this year that went to a ridiculous level. I agree with Fullofit, some junior formula drivers would have won F1 races in the Merc this year and that makes a complete mockery of the F1 drivers championship.

F1 » Wehrlein tops final F1 test as McLaren struggles

bill.stark.12382: Pascal seems to be a good pick, he's young and fast, wonder if he'll ever get a shot.
He could have won the championship in that car this season ... most drivers above F3 level could have.
I was wondering whether he would have come 1st or 2nd because it would have been fairly difficult to have come 3rd, unless he forgot to turn up I suppose.

F1 » Hamilton takes second F1 title with Abu Dhabi win

Congratulations to Lulu and the fanboys, no doubt the championship will paper over the cracks for you. But the reality is it's been an awful season, the engines are crap, the spectacle has been diluted, the racing has been occasional and the real championship contenders were neutered before the season even started. Hopefully someone will rescue F1 while it still has a pulse.

F1 » Vergne confirms Toro Rosso exit

I wonder where JEV would have finished in the championship if he was in the Merc, 1st or 2nd? We can pull this one with every driver on the F1 grid and quite a few who aren't on the grid! :p JEV deserves a break, he's proved his talent time and again but his face doesn't seem to fit with the Red Bull gang.

F1 » Rosberg takes crucial Abu Dhabi pole

MaddMe: I don't want t see Lulu go out with a blown engine, or car failure of any issue... I want to see him push so hard he spins out and wipes the back end of his car out!
I completely agree driver error would be ideal but anything preventing Lulu from sneaking another championship would be fine with me, mechanical failure, lightning striking his engine, a kangaroo kidnapping his car, they'd all be OK with me!

F1 » Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - Qualifying results

ramjam 69: There was no way he was going to get points, had a damaged car, and as for the safety car, if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle, Richard. He knew it, the team knew it, save the engine....
oh come on! why therefore, does m4xie keep going, or koba, or ericcson or etc etc. a proper racer will not give up even if they think that they are not going to get points!
Remember it happened last season as well, Lulu had a problem came back a lap down and started messing with the leaders race, unlapped himself, set a fastest lap then retired because his car had handling problems. Little ball bag.
