Cont. 2. Never heard of the bet before but that sounds interesting! 3. I was trying to think of an F1 car and wasn't getting any where but reading your post again I see you said GP car, so I'm thinking maybe something from the 1930's? a complete guess. Thanks Sunny, I might come back to Don's gibbering later.

107SS2009: Hey Taipan, been waiting for you with two things that I know will interest your history knowledge/likings, both are off topic. One, there was driver that won a race driving backwards?. Two, this same driver won a bet, the prize was the wife of the man that placed the bet?. Three, it’s not a rotary engine but a radial, the only one that was ever used in a GP car?.
Hi Sunny, sorry for the delay, working today :( 1. Is Brambilla Austria '75 I remember having a conversation with Richard about this a year or 2 ago. It's a great story with some rumours attached. The race was stopped early due to weather conditions and Brambilla got such a surprise that he took his hands off the wheel to celebrate and lost control, he crashed and crossed the line backwards! Some claim that the stewards were meant to have shown yellow flags because of the condition but showed the checkered flag by accident, I'm not sure if that bit is true or not. Cont

Don Hopings: Your bias is showing. You forget that Alonso brings baggage. He seems to have a very polarizing effect at places where he's been. He cost McLaren a bunch of money and he was the only one who benefitted from CrashGate. As much as I respect his abilities, I wouldn't have him.
WTF are you talking about? Alonso brings baggage so saying that he's performed at a consistently higher level shows bias? Don I worked out a while ago that you had a chip on your shoulder but I never realised that you were stupid. Ron cost McLaren money and if you read recent interviews he blames Lulu for starting the trouble. Alonso was found to have no knowledge of crashgate, if you don't agree with that go whine to the FiA. As for being polarising, look at Lulu! he falls out with his team mate every time he loses a race! But saying that will be bias in your mind no doubt!

peewee: Just a thought but I'll go with it anyway, if all this years drivers were out of contract at this moment who do the contributors to this site believe would be the most sought after on acheivement and ability only regardless of equipment.
If it's based only on this years achievements I'd say Ricciardo because he has been the driver of the year. But I would say judging a drivers ability just on one year is a bit risky, some have one great year then fade, I'm not saying that will happen to Dan but it can happen. If your question was based on the last 5 years I'd say Alonso because he's performed at a consistently higher level than anyone else (regardless of equipment)

Samouri: Good point....In other ways look how many have complained about Lewis living in Monaco, in order to cheat they feel paying taxes to the British govternment. Never holding that same standard to other driver's like Jenson Button, David Coulthard and Johnny Herbert who all have resided in Monaco for years.
Standard whining fanboy prattle, as usual you're convinced your little idol gets harshly treated but give no thought to the reasons why. In 2007 when the little epic one moved out of the UK (to Switzerland I believe) he told the media that the reason he was leaving was because he was too famous to live in the UK it had nothing to do with tax avoidance. That's why people take the piss out of him, because like his fans he's full of sh*t.

Fullofit:
Taipan:
... and he says man a lot and walks a DOG in the paddock, more points lost! :p
If only it was just the paddock. What ***** takes an animal to an awards ceremony? A media obsessed *****? The funniest thing about that episode was his reason for having his DOG on the red carpet, it was because his Pussycat was working and he had to take someone so he took the DOG. But his brother was sat next to him in the audience so why was the DOG needed? I guess the DOG was a better photo opportunity, as I said media obsessed.
