F1 » Red Bull appeal date set

Graeme Lowdon's view are worth reading, on the whole he's not in favour of the appeal so hopefully that means he's not thick in Rob's book. "Whilst technical directives - advice issued outside of the technical regulations - don't form part of the official rules, Lowdon says the system works well and it was followed by all but Red Bull that weekend." So technical directives are not part of the official rules (please take note all you non thick people) And "followed by all but RBR that weekend" doesn't that suggest that others had similar problems but went along with Charlie's advice as I said earlier?

107SS2009: Taipan, In my opinion once a technical directive is issued it is part of the rule as far as complying with is concerned. That most of the others ran into the same problems as RBR did is true as is true that all bar RBR adjusted as requested to comply/
From what I've read a technical directive is an opinion of the rules (from Charlie) not necessarily THE rules. The ICA have the final say on what the rules really are, not Charlie. Bob, For the first year or so that I was on Crash Rob was convinced that I was a troll who used to post as Andrew, and I believe he wears a cowboy hat so I take being called thick as a bit of a compliment since he usually gets things so wrong. :p

The Ferrari web site ran a poll on this, depending on what version of the site you were on, English, Italian or Spanish between 73% and 85% of fans said they were unhappy with "new" F1. This issue is real, it's big and it's not going away. Interestingly Niki Lauda thinks quiet F1 is great and finds it absurd that fans are not happy. Funnily enough I want a louder F1 and a quieter Lauda! The good thing about the quieter engines is I didn't have to shout over them each time I called to the little lady in the kitchen to bring me a beer. Every cloud.... Just for Stace xxx

Sunny, You're a bit late, Rob was equally excited about that story yesterday. No mention of course of Mateschitz concerns with F1's current direction of slower cars, quiet racing and fuel consumption. Shame to see RBR have been relegated to drinks manufacturers over this story though, maybe they thought 4 titles in a row meant it was time to start acting like one of the sports Grandes. 2008 - Spec Engine Proposal - Threatened to quit. 2009 - Budget Cap Proposal - Threatened to quit. 2011 - Tyres, DRS, 4 Pot Turbos - Threatened to quit. I think when you said no man is an island you meant that role is already taken.

Brendan, 100kg/h is a maximum not an average. A car is never at maximum fuel flow during a whole lap, each time they brake fuel flow drops, so 65 to 80% maximum throttle opening (depending on the track) is probably more the norm per lap. But other than that yes, they do have to manage their fuel load throughout the race or they'll run out. Sunny, I do agree on that point, the G6, P6 whatever call has nothing to do with the 100kg/h limit, that's just standard fuel management.

Stace, Taz having a laugh about his girlfriend asking daft questions during a race is not sexist. Telling his girlfriend to stay at home and get the housework done while he goes to the race because she's just a woman and wouldn't understand F1 anyway probably would be sexist.... As for the Australian GP that you watched with all the overtaking and wheel to wheel racing, that sounds great. It also sounds completely different to the Australian GP that I watched, which was pretty uneventful and deafeningly quiet.
