F1 » Ferrari: Engine development ‘first victory’

Thepain: Tai, not my point. Lewis indicated many a times that he wants a Ferrari and with the changes happening his interest might re awoke and if the team does prove to be on the rise....we could see another #Still I Rise a.k.a A car 2sec quicker then the rest
I don't think he has ever said he wants to drive for Ferrari, although I'm happy for one of his disciples to prove me wrong. I think he's actually said that he's never understood the appeal of Ferrari. Perhaps if he ever finds out that it was his role model Senna's intention to end his driving career at Ferrari he will suddenly see the appeal though.

rob01: What is to disagree with? He is only saying the split turbo isn't the reason that Merc buried Ferrari and Renault in the dirt. There is no solution provided for Red or Renault as to how they will cotch up. Nor why the 2 current loopholers need begging buckets. AVL will help Ferrari cotch up and teach them a few tricks along the way. I still need to know when Ferrari will be all cotched up Sunny?
And you're only saying cotch, not sure why though! :p

107SS2009: Correct, the split turbo and the things attributed to it was not the reason, it’s simple, (it is useless cramming more air volume/cooler and so denser and at higher pressure when you cannot inject more fuel then the rules allow). Re AVL helping FERRARI "COTCH-UP" you are stretching your imagination like the media did about the subject. Re the question you insist you still need to know (from me) I use to believe that you know me better than that (committing myself on such time frames).
I see what you're saying Sunny, essentially the media claims of the split turbo are just the same as increasing the boost and there's no point increasing boost because of the fuel flow limit. I think I'm right in saying there is nothing to stop teams increasing boost or revs at the moment but, again, due to the fuel flow limit there's no point, So in your opinion is the Merc advantage down to the energy recovery system?

As I said in an earlier post possibly JEV is not the best employee, maybe he doesn't communicate, give feed back, help in development as well as others, I have no clue if that's true but there must be some reason that he gets over looked and it's something other than what he does on a Sunday. Going back to an earlier post claiming that Dan qualified better therefore JEV had more tyres for race days, I've looked into it and that's complete boll*cks but I can't be bothered to type up all the stats on the subject, but trust me the tyre advantage was negligible.

JunglistF1: You put it much better than I did, Taipan. I only looked at 2013 which flattered DR a bit more than necessary. The two drivers were very close.
In addition, off the top of my head JEV had more mechanical failures in those 2 seasons but don't quote me on that. I really don't understand why some people can't accept that they were very close, it's in no way an insult to Dan and it doesn't take away from how good Dan was last year, it's just a fact of life. I think it would have been better all round to give JEV the RBR seat this year and leave Kvyat at STR for another season, if it didn't work out they could have dumped JEV for Kvyat in 2016. As it is STR will have 2 drivers with no F1 experience and very little open wheel experience this year, doesn't sound ideal to me.

fessup:
richard: no, i certainly did not! i said that jev had equaled or bettered dr, which he had. i still beiieve that jev is a better driver. not as forceful, but still better.
Equaled,bettered??? Mind boggling
Ricciardo had the better of JEV in qualifying, no doubt about that but in races JEV equaled or bettered him, it's not mind boggling it's fact. 2012 JEV 16 points DR 10 points 2013 JEV 13 points DR 20 points So 1 point between them after 2 seasons, if that's not fairly equal what is? JEV's best result in 2012 was 8th (which he did 4 times) Dan's best was 9th. JEV's best result in 2013 was 6th, Dan's best was 7th. If that's not bettering DR what is? Why don't you un-boggle your mind and give me some facts that prove JEV didn't equal or better DR?
