F1 » Maldonado to leave Williams for destination unknown

@JJJ - he inherited pole after it was stripped from Hamilton due to a fuelling cock-up by McLaren. Even if his win was remarkable, it was still a fluke. He's done nothing since then to warrant positive attention. The sooner he leaves F1 the better. If he gets that Lotus seat over Hulkenberg, it would be the biggest injustice in F1 in recent times. I can think of no better example of a talentless hack buying his way into a drive over a penniless genuinely talented star in waiting.

F1 » Maldonado to leave Williams for destination unknown

@jlr689 - stop shouting. I agree that the FW35 is garbage, but he's still awful as an F1 driver. You're right, he is a race winner, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's worth keeping in F1. The FW34 was a competitive car and after his fluke win, it took him 10 races to get back in the points. TEN. He won a race and yet still managed to finish the championship way down in 15th place, behind eight drivers who didn't win a race. He is massively inconsistent.

F1 » Pastor Maldonado's F1 future in doubt?

Maldonado to a top team like Lotus while Hulkenberg is on the market ... HA HA HA HA!!! Not even Eric Boullier would make THAT bad a decision. Actually, Hulkenberg doesn't have to be on the market for that to still be a laughable proposition. I say good riddance. He fluked one win and has done absolutely nothing since - he can't even make the points if he isn't ramming other cars out of the way (and I'm not just talking about 2013). There is genuine talent waiting in the wings while this guy takes up space. For heaven's sake Sir Frank, sort out the finances and get back up the front with some quality drivers.

F1 » Ricciardo laments penalty

The penalty is supposed to be for driving off the track and gaining an advantage. From what I saw, he gained no advantage from going wide. If anything, it was a disadvantage - Sutil nearly passed him back on the entry to the chicane because Ricciardo had lost so much speed going that wide. I agree that a driver should not be able to pass if leaving the track is required to make the pass stick (e.g. Grosjean on Massa in Hungary), but in this case leaving the track nearly stuffed up the pass. If Ricciardo had of stayed between the lines, he would have been further ahead of Sutil going into the chicane for sure. Leaving the track provided no advantage, QED.

F1 » Hulkenberg: No deal yet for 2014

Knowing the way Eric Boullier (mis)manages drivers and his team, he would go for Massa over Hulkenberg, wouldn't he? I can't for the life of me figure out why you would opt for a driver who is clearly not what they used to be and is on the other side of the peak of their career over a young, highly talented, smart, cool headed driver with their peak ahead of them like Hulkenberg. It would be a travesty for the sport to see Hulkenberg's talent wasted in a mid-pack Force India while Massa waits for retirement in a likely race winning Lotus. If Massa can't win in a Ferrari, what is he going to do with a Lotus? And if Hulkenberg can drag that Sauber up into the top five, imagine what he could do with a Lotus...

F1 » Latest F1 2014 driver line-up

I don't care what happens with any further driver announcements so long as Hulkenberg gets a drive! He deserves the Lotus seat over any other driver on the market, hands down. Maldonado getting his super licence revoked would then just make my day. I'm a little surprised that Bianchi signed with Marussia for another season, I thought he would have gone further up the grid... must be a Ferrari backed deal.

F1 » Boullier downplays Lotus debts

"But Kimi was in a similar position last year and it was all settled by the end of the year. And Genii had the plan to do the same this year.” So you're PLANNING to pay your drivers late? No wonder Raikkonen left! For goodness' sake, somebody with half a brain please buy this once great team and kick Eric Boullier to the kerb.
