MotoGP » FIRST LOOK: Ducati’s 2015 MotoGP machine

hmm....the bike looks wider....atleast near the middle portion where there is a step...as if its meant to cover the legs to improve aerodynamics wonder what the side intakes on the front fairing are for ? off the two bikes they showed, those side intakes were only present on one while i know this bike is supposed to improve turning, can they retain their braking/ accelerating ability...from what we see normally, its always a balance or a compromise of sorts....so does increasing turning reduce the braking ? will be interesting. Dovis quotes : "I always said I never expected us to improve as much as we did last year and before that I never believed that we could fight for a title. But with the improvements last year I now believe that we could fight for the championship. It doesn't mean that we will this year because we have to try the new bike and the competitors are really quick. When you change something big like with the new bike anything can happen.”

MM did low 1.48's but I think it was on the soft ( did he try the hard tire out ? ) Rossi put on a hard tire mid way and did high 1.48's thereafter....unless the temps are cold, i think the hard tire is the standard tire for the race here since the track is abrasive..... btw was I the only one who was following rossi's laps early on in the session and noticed he put in 3 laps which were identical i checked the analysis file and surely he did three 1.48.603's in a row :P how often do u see that !!

MotoGP » PICS: Jorge Lorenzo’s jump start

shamarone: re: "again...this may not be the reason" correct, it is not the reason. the tyre problem struck like a 1/2 dozen riders.
most during the latter half of the race....and mainly towards the end... rossi on the other hand started facing issues 7 laps into the race... heated tires tend to wear faster....in trying to outbreak others, he must have overheated his tires which lead to such wear..... had he been say 3rd from the beginning....he may have got more into a rythm and convserved tires better.....

MotoGP » PICS: Jorge Lorenzo’s jump start

i know this is a long shot...but the reason rossi wore his front tire out is partially because of lorenzo.... without the jump start, rossi may have had a better start (since he wouldnt be distracted)... he wouldnt need to push so hard in the first few laps and would be more smooth compared to how aggresively he was braking on sunday..... his tire would not have overheated and could have lasted longer ( possibly race distance ) again...this may not be the reason.....but it seems the most logical answer to his tire woes seeing he did try out a used tire in warm up......

MotoGP » Lorenzo, Rossi conclude testing programme

@ realist.....i do realize that....but still...have a look at the analysis.... the first day lorenzo was a bit slower doing mid 1.31's......rossi had around half high1.31's and remaining were low-mid 1.32's......on an average he was 5 tenths slower per lap.... the second day rossi went worse and did all low-mid 1.32's.....lorenzo upped his pace and was constantly doing 1.31.0's and 1.31.1's...thats a whole freaking second..... as it is right now, it doesnt look too good....

MotoGP » Lorenzo, Rossi conclude testing programme

recently i read this on Gpone... Rossi weighs 67 kgs lorenzo - 65 kgs its more of the riding style....the amount of corner speed lorenzo carries is amazing....he loses to the honda in the first half because he breaks early, but the amount the gains by just maintaining his speed is amazing.....thats how he did most passes on dani in valencia also since he doesnt brake so much...he doesnt face the braking and fuel issues rossi is currently facing coming back to the test....it doesnt looks too good for rossi....he was managing on an avg. 1.32's mainly.....lorenzo and marc on the other hand were doing 1.31.0's and 1.31.1's for most part......if he doesnt up his game next year, he may end up fighting with smith and pol
