MotoGP » Mugello MotoGP: Close moment for Crutchlow, Dovizioso

His interviews always make me either laugh or cringe! I'm never sure whether Cal is just joking or intentionally trying to antagonise people when he gives interviews. Personally I think its just humorous banter although he could probably do with some media training! It is quite refreshing to have somebody speak their mind even if it is nonsense or harmful to their career. Makes a change to the robotic parc ferme interviews Dani & Jorge give.

MotoGP » Le Mans: Crutchlow - Coughing blood to podium champagne

From the history books and overall opinion there is no doubt that some of the riders behind him were better and will always be the better riders. However you race in the conditions, time and place on the day with the bike and tyres setup as you and your team decide. What happens after the lights go out and before the chequered flag is up to you. If you fall off -it's your problem. If you get over taken - it's your problem. There is no fluke in racing.

I also understand Bradl's and Bautista's Honda's to be "Factory specification". What this means exactly is unclear. Do they have the same level of HRC support? The same parts availability? I expect the Repsol bikes are higher in the pecking order at HRC if that makes sense? I also understand Simoncelli for example was contracted to HRC directly whereas Aoyama was not. In 2011 I did not consider their bikes comparable. Who Bradl and Bautista are contracted to I would like to know. This is all a bit of topic being a Crutchlow article, people can disagree all day on what bikes best! The result is that Crutchlow is performing admirably as top satellite rider on the package available to him whatever that may be.

Good to see Cal performing well on the machinery available to him (top satelite rider). I would like to see him get more factory support but as a realist, what with with Jorge, return of Vale and the current economic climate. I fear Yamaha may be a bit stretched on resources. However with the Honda boys being so strong and Vale being able to do pretty much his own thing. I think Jorge would welcome a more competitive Cal to support his his title challenge, take points from Honda and tow the Yamaha/Lorenzo line.

MotoGP » Crutchlow: I expected to finish fifth

excellent performance from Cal. Really pleased to see him at the front of his actual competition and close to the factory equipped boys. Would be nice to see him getting a bit more support from Yamaha but I expect they are probably a bit pre-occupied with the return of Rossi. He did seem to get on nicely with Lorenzo last season and showed willing to support his title campaign so hopefully Yamaha haven't forgotten him.

MotoGP » PIC: Rossi, Lorenzo in Jakarta

I suspect things to be different from before, although they may not be the best of friends behind the scenes why should they be? J-Lo has nothing to prove, 2 WC's, matured a lot and is picking up the mind game and political tactics of his old/new colleague. Rossi although still popular and financially viable does have something to prove but will have learnt a lot and been humbled by his time served at Ducati. He won't be able to make the same demands as before. Equal machinery, no pit wall, let them race.
