MotoGP » Austin MotoGP: Braking woes leave Rossi eighth

@UserM4 "A lot of trash talkers on here about Rossi. Let's be real. How many times has Rossi finished worse than his qualifying position? That's right. It's very rare. You know why? Because when the pressure is on, he's cool, calm, and collected." Yeah, incredible racer. You can't be a motorsport fan and not be in awe of Rossi's ability to race his machine well. Even on the Duke he raced well, IMO. Regularly out-performing your qualifying position is a real good indicator of the ability to race, and the ability to race is a special quality that not all have. Compare Vettel and Webber in that regard then look at their championship results over the past 3-4 years. That being said, Lorenzo and Stoner are also brilliant racers. To their advantage though, they also regularly qualify at the very front.

MotoGP » Austin MotoGP: Marc Marquez claims debut pole

@Max "Hasn't Qatar taught you anything about Rossi's determination or his pedigree? He won't be a contender on this track, gap is far too big. Cometh race day he'll still finish 4th or 5th. " When there are only 4 genuine factory machines on the grid, 4th or 5th is not saying much. Actually, 5th would be downright embarassing. Anything short of competing with his teammate at each event and defeating him half the time would be sub-par. Rossi is on his way to 0-2 on that measure. I'm hoping for much better from him when they get to Europe and he has Lorenzo's 2012 data to help get him started at each event.

MotoGP » Austin MotoGP: Marquez top and eager to improve

Interesting stuff. The Yamahas had a couple of tenths on the Honda in Qatar, now the tables have turned and the Honda has a sizeable advantage at Qatar. Looks like the usual handling of the Yamaha versus the power of the Honda coming into play. The Honda boys better make hay while the sun shines because the handling will dominate at most of the european tracks. No doubt that this is Marquez's best early season chance for his first MotoGP win.

MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP: Lorenzo wins - Rossi, Marquez steal the show

@Rossifan "Mikey@ yes you're absolutely right.. Cal is faster than dani & marquez, even than Rossi........ but he''s only faster when there's no other riders in front for him to pass... " Agree totally. Cal is not a good racer. Can be fast, but makes too many mistakes and has trouble mixing it up if guys around him can be close to his race pace. I do find him entertaining though.
