MotoGP » German MotoGP, Sachsenring - Qualifying

Very exciting session. In the last 5 minutes, provisional pole was being taken over faster than you could digest who went fastest with Bradl, Hayden, Crutchlow, Spies, Pedrosa and Stoner all taking turns. It was brilliant. Stoner had 3 runs. In the first run, he ran his number 2 bike. In the second run, he used his number 1 bike and said it had a much better feel before it failed with a mechanical problem. He finished the session on his number 2 bike. Rossi's absence from the top of the timesheets throughout the session was noticable. Meanwhile, Hayden had provisional pole on a number of his laps. Very strange.

MotoGP » Quickest Pedrosa ‘only managed half the plan’

Dani is fast. A great team-mate for Stoner as Stoner can't relax for a moment or Dani will beat him. With respect to proven talent, Dani is a proven quantity and is 4th in the top 4 of Stoner, Lorenzo, Rossi and Pedrosa. If Rossi stays at Ducati, and with Stoner retiring, Dani is the second highest proven talent in the field of riders wanting one of the 4 top factory rides. Until 3 new fast guys come along to bump him down the order, his factory ride is secure. Marquez might be one of those riders. Where are the other two going to come from? Pedorosa's position looks safe for years to come. The fact that he doesn't seem to have what it takes to win the championship means nothing until the rider market contains enough riders who are a better chance than him at winning the championship.

MotoGP » Pedrosa ahead in first Sachsenring practice

@bikenut I agree and would probably go a step further. I can't see why he wouldn't be the same threat he was last time he was on a Yamaha fully fit. Rossi did not lose his abilities in 2011 and 2012. His abilities are likely to be exactly as they were. I'm so pissed off Stoner is retiring. We've been deprived of what would be an epic sight to see (assuming Rossi is offered a factory Japanese bike next year). I'm still in denial about Stoner's retirement - I'm holding onto hope he changes his mind.
