F1 » Teams warned that Pirelli test could not be ‘in-season’

@Taz Just looked, Mercedes are going to burn. They have clearly breached FIA directions. "Pirelli and Mercedes-AMG were advised by the FIA that such a development test could be possible if carried out by Pirelli, as opposed to the team that would provide the car and driver, and that such tests would be conditional upon every team being given the same opportunity to test in order to ensure full sporting equity."

F1 » FIA to rule on Mercedes tyre test

All the telemetry gained and information gleaned from the Barcelona test must be given to the FIA, but who knows how much copies of this they have and surely it has already gone into car development and so will advantage them for the rest of the season. Why did Ross Brawn and the rest of his team drivers technicians, everyone in the paddock suddenly acquire amnesia over the two-year car rule. It's sad to say this but Mercedes have to be given a points penalty but even then they will still be in a better position than they were before the Barcelona tests. Ross Brawn simply can't be allowed to get away scot-free with this.
