F1 » Ecclestone slams Red Bull for driver feud

luke, Brawn knew his cars weren't strong enough to beat the red Bulls. So Rosberg would not have brought home any additional points for the team. Vettel nearly put himself into the wall, and he was not faster than Webber. ET, makes a good point about all the employees who makes the performance of these cars possible. Adrian Newey agonisingly crouched down with his head in his hands, speaks volumes. Vettel was wrong period.

F1 » Ecclestone slams Red Bull for driver feud

I think the majority of fans me included, don't want to see team orders in F1. However, Bernie and all those who think Bernie is right are ignoring the fact that F1 operates in a cost-cutting environment, where severe penalties are handed out. Rule 28.4 a) Each driver may use no more than eight engines during a Championship season. Should a driver use more than eight engines he will drop ten places on the starting grid at the first Event during which each additional engine is used. ....... 28.6 a) Each driver may use no more than one gearbox for five consecutive Events in which his team competes. Should a driver use a replacement gearbox he will drop five places on the starting grid at that Event and an additional five places each time a further gearbox is used. With rules like these, teams cannot help but use orders to bring home the cars with a minimum of wear and tear on them. Vettel is an employee of Red Bull, he is not Red Bull.

F1 » Vettel wins F1 2013 Malaysian GP

@richard, I think you will find your falsely quoted me, and I'm surprised you are so ardently defending Vettel's indefensible position . @Observer, Hamilton short fuelled, used too much fuel and so would have been passed by Rosberg. I can agree with but, Hamilton's lack of speed was due to fuel saving and not anything else. Sure, Mercedes may be trying to protect face with Hamilton over this lack of fuel but, at this stage in the the team had nothing to lose to any rivals. I do not think Mercedes are trying to deliberately keep Rosberg back. If you're correct, I'd be the first to condemn them. Without team orders , this discussion board would be half empty. I've always been against team orders but it's what the FIA and the teams want.
