F1 » Lotus: Pirelli choices ‘make no sense’

zib, "Why take their hard work and advantage away from them? " I thought the whining and groaning about tyres had come to an end when Pirelli announced they were keeping the compounds for this year's tyre range. Let me make it clear, tyre compounds will not be changed. NO CHANGE. To quote Kimi Raikkonen,"we've seen some great racing so far this year and Pirelli can take some of the credit for this. We are all allocated the same tyres, so it's up to us as teams and the drivers in the cars to make the most of them".

F1 » Massa calm over future

IDylan, Massa is a lot more marketable now than he was last year, and being in his 30s, a move to another team would allow him to lead or drive it forward. I don't think Hulkenberg would allow himself to be watered down, because he has not had that confidence knock which Massa suffered after his accident. I would love to see what Hulkenberg would do in a good car, he deserves a break.

F1 » Vettel: Tyre criticism purely a matter of safety

Richard, when I said a 'sudden delamination at high speed is dangerous no matter where you are on the track,so change in this characteristic would be better', I meant this as part of the constant ongoing tyre improvements. Pirelli introduced this year's tyres sort of experimentally knowing they would create a greater need for teams to manage them. Pirelli were always for making tyres harder later in the season if the teams wanted it , but first they would see how teams adjusted to then. Early this season Red Bull, were vehemently against these tyres and to a lesser degree Mercedes. Christian and Vettel would say something like racing is not the same any more because they're pushing at just 70%( you yourself have echoed this). And so this tyre delamination anomaly has come as a gift to Red Bull to get tyres changed so facilitating their greater performance on track. Most teams don't want the tyres changed which just goes to show how the safety angle is a side issue, only a facilitator
