MotoGP » Ducati switching to Open Class for MotoGP 2014?

to be an open team means unlimited testing with your main riders onboard , ducati badly need lots of unrestricted testing to get a move on , otherwhise they will forever be miles behind honda and yamaha whom both will eventually have to take on the stock ecu anyway or go home , its a very smart move because they can also change the engines as they keep developing new ideas , whereas honda and yamaha engines are sealed.

MotoGP » Cal Crutchlow - Q&A: Part 1

in my opinion i think ducati should go back to its roots with what it knows , the trellis frame did well when the tyres were made around it , and the carbon design did pretty well with the control tyres , according to stoner the carbon design was better than the trellis , and if he says so then it's more than safe to believe so , whats needed is a bike with more freedom to set around the control tyres on any given day , the engine has the power of the universe so if they can find a way to get the bikes happy with the tyres ducati will again be a force , i have no doubt cal and dovie will take the duke to the fight if these problems can be rectified.

MotoGP » Dovizioso 'more confident' for 2014

Realist. thats because rossi was scared of the bike and all his energy was used on worrying rather than just go hard , stoner has said many times the ducati has to be pushed hard from the go or its flaws will just overwhelm you , i'm not saying its a great bike , i'm saying it could still win a race if it was ridden with less worry and more anger. everyone knows its a flawed bike , but there are guys still signing up to ride them using too much caution , if stoner never went to ducati i doubt they would of ever gotten a win apart from the common once every few years spectacle , and no one would even have a clue that the bike has problems , once everyone seen it win 23 races with one guy and no others getting anywhere its still clear the bike can win races.

MotoGP » Dovizioso 'more confident' for 2014

Realist. i'm under no illusions either , that bike is clearly far more stable than the ones stoner had to ride , the power is still there as well , i think riders are just afraid to see what happens if they push it to the limit , which is what the honda and yamahas are being pushed to , how can you tell what a bike can do if you don't wring its neck , fact is you can't.
