MotoGP » Checa to test GP12 for Ducati?

@Engine I would say that when Casey was onboard things were fine, Nicky was much faster last year and had alot of top five finishes and looked more comfortable on the bike. Then we have the Casey developed gp10s that quite often mix it up with the never "improved" factory bikes. Not bashing Vale or anything, just trying to prove that Casey did a hell of o job. @ everyone who says that letting checa test is pointless He's faster than the other test riders, he is available. To me it seems like Ducati need all the help they can get. Smart move I would say.

If it is all about being unique surely they could make a twin spar frame but in cf. Test an alu version to dial it in. Then make a cf version that mimics the flex and such. I have at least never seen a cf twin spar frame with a 90 degree V4 engine. Heck I've not even seen a twin spar alu frame with a 90 degree V4. They can stay unique cause that's what they do. But they also need to stay smart, how many more riders have to struggle before they realize it's the bike? They say that it would hurt the production bike if they sack the concept. But I didn't see any decrease in 848 and 1198 sales when they sacked the trellis frame in the desmo.

I think that the biggest difference from last year is that there are more factory Hondas on the grid, and the ex-rookies have gone quite fast. Bautista is fast on the suzuki now, Simo has shown that he has the speed, has to nail the other parts. That makes it damn hard for the worst factory bike to be competitive. I say that with that bike there would be no way that even Casey could beat Dani or Jorge to the championship. He did the right thing and left Ducati. There are alot of posts about Rossi being as fast as Casey was last year on some tracks. That shows that the competition has stepped it up a notch. Ducati hasn't.

@Rider50 No Rossi doesn't go well here. I really do hope that Ducati swallow their pride and get a real chassis. Not for Rossis sake, but for all the other Ducati riders, many of them deserve better than that wobbly, numb feeling thing they call a bike. The guys on the field are in MotoGP because they've shown that they are fast, or once were fast. Surely they deserve something that is faster than the 1198R race bike.
