WSBK » Lyubimova: Financial reasons forced Yakhnich exit

She didn't say, but isn't one of the reasons that the Russia round was cancelled? If I remember well, Yaknich played a big part in that race. It could be a huge setback for them that the race was cancelled. (And I still don't understand really why it was, WTCC raced there without any problems. And Formula-1 will in Sochi...) It's a big shame that a top team like Yaknich have to withdraw because of the money. At first I thought the performance of the MV Agusta was the reason (in WSBK, because nobody can say they go bad in SSP). I will miss them. From the interview it doesn't look like they will return. Lucky that MV Agusta continue the effort, it would be a shame if Cluzel was left without a ride. He had a great race yesterday. But I'm not sure that this form can continue until the end of the season without the experience of Yaknich. Another interesting point: I saw a man with a beard in Cluzel's garage (maybe his crew chief?). If a remember correctly he was with Lowes last year. So

MotoGP » Scott Redding pulls out of TT appearance

beastinblack: What about the guys who have taken part in motogp since the 2011 Malaysian GP? Riders fall all the time and we take it for granted that they will either get up or at least show some signs of movement, but there will be another time in the future when a fall just doesnt happen the right way. Look how Crutchlows bike smacked into Bradl. Hit at any other angle and it could have been curtains. Nobody can guarantee fatalities wont happen again, even in the totally safe(?) F1, there is still a risk. Riders/drivers are pretty much fighter pilots out there.
Your point would be correct if there would be a fatality at every single Grand Prix. Luckily it doesn't happen. But at the TT people die every year. Racing in public roads is unnecessarely dangerous by the standards of the 21st century. Racers should race at circuits, that is why those were built.
