MotoGP » Rate the 2012 Portuguese MotoGP!

(continued) with Lorenzo and Stoner, two racers that in there own rights could be considered the fastest guys we have ever seen on two wheels. Its incredibly fortunate for us to be able to witness two guys so talented in the same era, and if they both ride off into the distance every race without a single overtake im just as happy as if they dice every corner as able to witness the best riders riding the best bikes in my favourite sport and passtime.

MotoGP » Rate the 2012 Portuguese MotoGP!

I find it really disheartening that so many think that watching the fastest motogp riders of the current era on track riding the absolute wheels off of bikes that are so far removed from the the things we ride on the streets and track days that they could barely be categorised as the same type of machines as boring... The reasons we arent seeing moto2 style bomb from way out overtaking is because Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa are so evenly matched in terms of race pace, all riding bikes there or there abouts as fast as each other and they all ride so close to the edge that to attempt to overtake would mean one of them would have to ride way over the limit and risk at best running wide or at worst crashing, And knowing as these three guys are going to be on the podium every weekend the risk is not worth the payoff as one wrong move for an extra 5 points will pretty much ruin a championship run. Its disrepectful to these racers to say that its boring, It is a golden era of gp racing wit

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi: I managed to have some fun

I thought it was a very positive race for Rossi, He was able to run for the majority of laps about half a second down on the front guys average laptimes. It would be excellent to see him keep this momentum going. The Ducati is such a different machine to the others in terms of the lines and styles needed to make it fast, I for one would throughly enjoy seeing it in and around the top bikes just to see how the Honda and Yamaha riders would deal with its strengths and weakness.

MotoGP » Stoner conquers Estoril for MotoGP lead

How can people describe the best riders on the planet riding on the fastest bikes as boring? I question how many of the race detractors are truly bike loving and more importantly bike riding nutters? As if your not impressed by the display of skills then i believe you dont understand or appreciate what your watching. Anytime you see riders the quality of Lorenzo and Stoner spend an entire race going flat out trying to out do each other on every lap, It is in my mind action packed, racing isnt about kamikaze redbull cup t-bone passing, Its about riding really, really fast, If passing occurs its a bonus.

MotoGP » Crutchlow almost scrapped top Yamaha lap

It really is an amazing transformation for Crutchlow, when viewed in light of his 2011 season, I for one dont think i ever saw him ride with such controlled agression and intent last season. As mentioned by many it is refreshing to have another rider fight with everything to join the so-called "Aliens" club. I think that with the lap times Crutchlow has shown he is capable of so far, Its a matter of when not if he scores a race win.

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi lashes out after Qatar nightmare

I wonder if Rossi thought before riding the Ducati, If Stoner can win on it then as im better than him i surely will win on it also... And i also wonder when was the exact moment Rossi came to the realisation that Stoner was far and away a more skillful rider than he ever gave him credit for. Has anyone considered that confidence is basically the most important skill on a motorcycle when it comes to racing it, if your not confident in the bike or the tyres or yourself then no matter your talent, at MotoGP level once one or more of these elements leave you, your going to get left behind swiftly, confidence in racing even if its merely assumed not fact would see you believe you cannot be beaten. Maybe Rossi has lost his confidence in trying to understand how Stoner won on a bike designed by the same people that designed the latest GP12, a bike he cannot get close to the pace of the Hondas and Yamahas, bikes that Stoner raced with and beat whilst riding the Ducati.
