F1 » Magnussen questions harshness of penalty

qbasiz: Sure taipan, ignoring FIA weightbridge/inspection because you "thought" the light wasnt for you equals reversing in pitlane to park car..
Difference is that lew knew that he was breaking the rules, Magnussen didn't.
For any F1 driver to not understand a red light means stop is implausible. If in doubt, plough on regardless? It won't wash at the traffic lights on the roads and it doesn't wash in F1. Remember, some drivers have lost their lives by not fully obeying flags/lights.

F1 » Rosberg ‘enjoying moment’ but braces for Hamilton comeback

mrfill: I do wish Rosberg would stop over-using the word 'awesome'. Winning is not awesome. An atomic bomb is awesome. A tsunami is awesome. The second coming of christ would be awesome. Winning a GP is not awesome and in the case of Mercedes, it is expected. 5 in a row is a great achievement but does not fill anyone with awe.
You sound very bitter. Is he not allowed to be happy he won?
Of course he is. He can be awesomely happy. More awesome than the awesomest awesome thing on planet awesome. It was an awesome win on an awesome track in an awesome car by an awesome team in an awesome country and he should be awesomely happy and awesomely looking forward to the next awesome race.

MotoGP » Espargaro slams last-lap overtakes, pit stop ruling

Sasha Alexandrovich: @VKAL the likely reason for the Ducati tyre blow was overheating. Michelin probably saw some temps from other bikes getting close to the critical level.....
.... The tyre spec is already finalized. we don't have all the data but the common cause failure is Ducati being grunt - high speed bike. So far this failure only occurred from one manufacturer. Would you go back and ask them to find a way to reduce this failure or change the tyres? Now changing tyres has more cost impact since this affects the entire grid. All the manufactures now have to spend the time and money to adjust.
The failures occurred to Redding (78kg) and Baz (79kg) - the two heaviest (by a way) riders. Carrying an extra 27-28kg (compared to Pedrosa) may have a bearing on it.

MotoGP » Iannone punished for Dovizioso take down

I imagine the three fist penalty back at the garage was of much greater concern. A 3 place penalty will lose him a couple of bike lengths at the start of the next race and as for the licence point, the rules this year mean nothing happens until you get 10 so no big concern. A light penalty for a daft move on a tricky track. Hope the black eye is better for COTA :)
