MOTOGP » Marquez talks Pedrosa, Stoner data

@v4poweeer I think you'll find its an article about Marc Marquez. Pedrosa, Lorenzo et al will always use last years data to assist in set up. MM is simply gathering what data he can to help. As it happens, last years data for the bike was based on Stoner riding but its that or nothing. As for Pedrosa's setting helping traction, it didnt seem to be that good, as traction rather disappeared shortly before the visit to the kitty litter. QED

F1 » Red Bull denies Allison/Newey rumour

@rob Yes, I understand it doesn't suit Newey but for some time now the engines have had frozen development and the only real variables have been to do with aero. And until the new toys were added (KERS, DRS) it had led to processions around the tracks. Next season there will be new engines for all and it is likely that one engine will be better than the others, until Nanny comes along and starts 'equalising' them. They don't equalise the aero though (mores a pity), by insisting on equal down force for all cars. The suggestion seems to be that the engine will play a more important role than at present and that sounds quite a good idea to me as it should mean the rise of the tuning engineers who currently have little to do. The cars may even start to look better as well instead of having these huge shovels with lots of twiddly aero junk at the front.

MOTOGP » Michael Bartholemy (Marc VDS) - Q&A

@Jon Marquez weight is shown on the Motogp site as 59kg (the same as one C Stoner) and, as you say, Redding is shown as 74kg. More recently I saw his weight quoted as 70kg, which is more likely. Marquez has long been accused of having a huge weight advantage, which is not true, yet Pedrosa, Aoyama and Bautista all weigh less. Even Kallio is lighter than Marquez but no-one seems to mention that!

MOTOGP » Michael Bartholemy (Marc VDS) - Q&A

Interesting interview which needs to be read from beginning to end before commenting - future posters note... @sokuko - I think the headline will create a lot of argument, based on stats. MM 125 - 46 starts, 10 wins, 14 podiums SR 125 - 33 starts, 1 win, 2 podiums MM M2 - 32 starts, 16 wins, 25 podiums SR M2 - 56 starts, 2 wins, 10 podiums I think a fairer comparison is with Stefan Bradl (not such a bad thing) and the biggest change in Scott this year is in attitude. He's now riding like a seasoned pro and the results are coming and hopefully, will continue to come. As for MotoGP, the biggest problem is likely to be finding a decent ride on a prototype unless someone retires, and that then narrows the field to Ducati. The greatest disadvantage maybe is that Scott doesnt have the marketing potential that Marquez or Espargaro has to attract big money sponsors and nowadays that is often more important to a team than riding skill. Sad but true.

F1 » Ferrari downplays Pirelli test

@richard most generous of you to expect Hamilton's grammar to be perfect. I have my doubts. Of course, a little investigation reveals a picture of Walt Disney World ****ted on 16th May at 9.20am. It is captioned "This was on the way to the hotel in Orlando! ". I believe 'was' is past tense and does not imply he was in Florida, backed up by previous posts saying he arrived on 13th May. If that tweet was proof of absence, you would have thought it would have been removed. 16 days later, it is still there!! Case not proved.....
