Looks like I might have to eat my words and say Rossi may be in the mix once again. I hope Nicky's up there too, he won in '06 but has never been a front runner since. Imagine all six factory bikes battling it out in 2012!

Will be interesting to see what he can do on this bike. Superstock version won at Monza topping out at 198mph in less than ideal conditions, same top speed that Carlos did on his superbike at the same track! I'm sure they could squeeze another 5-10 mph in dry conditions on the Panigale next year.

Hmmm....I wonder what Sykes' ZX10, Biaggi's RSV4 or Haslam's S1000RR would do there? Or even Stoner's Honda???

Sure Pirelli have been around a long time and it's only natural that they would defend their product and name for fear of repercussions, but the truth is that the decision should be left to the world class riders who have the experience in using these bikes and tyres to the limit. Like James Hayden said on BSB, Monza and Pirelli have been around for a very long time, surely Pirelli should have designed a tyre to cope with these unique conditions by now? Pirelli, you need to move with the times!!!

@ Fergs: Good point. He could maybe follow Checa to see where Checa's good and where he's not so good and then make his move with a few laps to go. Maybe even ride smoother like Checa because he looks quite aggressive on the bike as opposed to Checa or Biaggi. But then again it might just be the bike's aggressive power delivery. Who knows??? Here's hoping Sykes clicks with the bike at Assen.

Sykes gets the lap record and yet breaks it again (unofficially) in testing?! The underdog is starting to make the front-runners take notice I think, and maybe he'll even pull it out the bag and get top brit in the final standings??? Early days yet.......

Character or no character, it's skill that wins races. Not a rider's personality. Fact.

Hopefully she will win the title at some point, then go to World SuperSport. If she can consistently finish in the top 10 in WSS, 'maybe' she'll get noticed by Moto2 teams. If so, then maybe she'll get into Moto2 in a few years from now and hopefully make an impact. I'm pretty sure sponsors will be fighting over her signature from this point as she will be very marketable due to being a young female with decent skills in a male dominated sport.

Whatever happens, I hope he's faster than his team mate!

If we could rely on this test as a true reflection of everyone's capabilities for the race, then yes. Wouldn't it be great if Sykes and Lascorz ran near the front next weekend? Now that would throw a cat among the pigeons and improve Kawasaki's reputation!
