Any idea how tyres will work with the new system? Now they only get qualifying tyres for superpole, will they all get to use multiple qualifying tyres at the final session? multiple runs on qualifying tyres means times will drop even more

I hoped Byrne would wildcard in the British rounds because I want to see how good he really is against the world sbk field. He is a very good rider, there's no question about that but in BSB he is up against young riders that are just learning to be front runners and the old British circuits suit the v-twin

Nitro Nori do you know what you are watching? Do you know what the arguments against the 1098R are? 1200cc twins were never said to be more powerful or faster down a straight than a 1000cc four. but the more torquey, easier on tyres twin has an advantage in and coming out of turns. If Shakey was on the Honda he would not be able to come from the back and still save the tyres. Near the end of the race the tyres of 1000cc four are gone, thats why the chances of running wide or getting wheel spin increase.

"This thread is about WSB - Honda won the title last year not Ducati." Actually, Toseland won on a Honda but Yamaha won the SBK manufacturers title last year.

Didn't KTM have Red Bull sponsorship on the superstock bike when they announced they were going racing at the Milan show last year? what happened to it? It seems that their Superstock entry went from a factory effort to a single rider running his own team

I wish KTM the best of luck but looking at the bike's specs, the Japanese and the Italians have them beat easily and I expect the Germans will too. didnt KTM promise the most powerful v-twin ever made? Is this it? a bike that makes 113kW(~155hp) and weights 188kg without fuel, at the same time Ducati revealed their new v-twin bike, that makes 132.4kW(~180hp) and weights 165kg without fuel

I hope BMW sees this as a long term commitment and not just a speedy way to develop a 1000cc superbike

Pedercini are running the 1098 at superstock this season. could this mean that after a year with the bike against 1000cc 4 superstocks they came to the conclusion than a 1000cc 4 superbike is a better choise than a 1098 superbike?
