F1 » F1 Driver of the Year 2014: 1st

Dan surprised the heck out of everyone, from the very start of the season putting his car on the front row, to that very last race where he came from last to 4th. He seams to have a pretty good mix of quali and race speed, excellent race craft, knowing when and when not to push, good wet skills, a bit of Webber's bad starts and all while looking after his tyres ! But overall he's right up there with the best this year, and to top's it off how he easily dispatched Seb this year especially when Seb had no car issues. Massively enjoyed his racing this year, he brang something new and fresh to F1, with a smile to boot. Congrats Dan and Merry Christmas to everyone !

F1 » F1 Driver of the Year 2014: 2nd

Hunterman - So what if the RB's went for a wet setup, they took the risk and were still easily beaten by the Mercs. Lulu got a run down the straight, Ros went right so Lulu went left and pretty much won the corner before they got there - that's no amazing pass, a standard garden variety type people have been pulling all year. Dan, regardless of his setup was passing on the outside of turn 6, on the ripple strips and white lines (which people spin off for) and made it work when he couldn't pass anywhere else being down on HP. Like I said before, I've only ever seen 2 pass there before - 1 Schumi and 1 Massa so passing there is extremely rare. So only Lulu fans would think that was a better pass than Dan's. Another reason why Lulu fans cop so much flack here for obvious reasons - Can't see the wood through the trees !

Norville2:
ToddCreek: That's ok in my book. Lewis is the next Senna and will crush the competition from here out.
Just remembering him going around the outside of Rosberg at the Japanese GP, in the rain. There is no one racing at the moment other than Lewis that could do that. He does some many great overtakes that they seem to go unnoticed.
You're kidding yeah ? Dan was overtaking people all day on the outside of turn 6 - Something I can only remember Schumi (that was a double overtake too in 97 I think) and Massa doing (forgot which year) Lulu's overtake was ordinary, and plenty of people have overtaken there on the outside in previous years. Pfft only Lulu could do that. Dan's overtaking this year has been epic, selling dummies, round the outside, from way back like in Austin, big duels with Alonso like in Germany and the many passes on Vettel. Ric is easily the best overtaker all year. Thats not an opinion, the proof speaks for

F1 » Hamilton: This title means more than 2008

ProfessorX: I think it's fair to say Webber challenged Vettel consistently in 2010, I think after 2010, when RBR had the best car bar-none, almost always (when they didn't Mark seemed to be that much better), Webber never really had a shot, reliability included.
Agreed. 1st half 2010- things were even, Mark has some cracking wins. 2nd half - off throttle blowing came in and Seb got the advantage 2011 - full blown ebd and pirellis which Mark hated and he got destroyed. 1st half of 2012 & 13 - Newey hadnt found the loophole with the ebd and Mark did better than Seb 2nd half- Newey sorted the ebd and Mark got wasted again. If Mark had raced this year he would of done the same thing Dan did. No ebd and pirellis which are harder than last 3 years. The difference between Seb and Mark was who the car suited more. Mark couldnt adapt to the ebd like seb cant adapt without it.

F1 » Smedley: Closed F1 cockpits ‘very easy to implement’

F1 has always been open cockpit and should stay that way. Any pilot in any motorsports accepts the risks and dangers - It's part and parcel with racing. Whats the next idea, bubble domes around MotoGP bikes or dodgem bumper bars on cars...................well that would be good for Maldonado, but ill pass. Best wishes and speedy recovery for Jules though.

F1 » Hamilton takes F1 title lead as Rosberg retires

Alex4F1: Yeah good drive Hamilton whatever. Vettel's my man of the day for completely outclassing Riccardo. This is what he can do when the car and strategy and the luck is kind to him. Alonso so close too
. You are also admitting Seb is crap unless the car is kind to him. Which means Alonso puts him to shame. EDIT by CRASH.NET! Inappropriate comments removed.
