There is only two ways around the outside of that chicane: 1- The way Bottas did it. Be along side the whole time going into the apex so the driver on the inside cant take the racing line or, 2- The way Ros did it. Not be close enough where the guy on the inside can take the racing line and you either have to back off or loose a wing. Ros backed off and damaged his wing = Fail. I dislike Lulu as much as most people but this was not his fault, for once.

20.3 More than one change of direction to defend a position is not permitted. Any driver moving back towards the racing line, having earlier defended his position off-line, should leave at least one car width between his own car and the edge of the track on the approach to the corner. 20.4 Any driver defending his position on a straight, and before any braking area, may use the full width of the track during his first move, provided no significant portion of the car attempting to pass is alongside his. Whilst defending in this way the driver may not leave the track without justifiable reason. For the avoidance of doubt, if any part of the front wing of the car attempting to pass is alongside the rear wheel of the car in front this will be deemed to be a 'significant portion'.

There is the two important rules from the FIA. It doesn't say anywhere that Lulu has to give space "during" the corner - just in the approach "braking zone" Lulu didn't ram Ros off he just took the racing line. The wing next to the rear tyre applies on the straight not in the corner. The rules say it quite clearly. Basically Ros didn't get far enough along side going to the apex of the chicane like Bottas did.

At the time of the incident, Nico's front wing was along side Lulu's rear tyre (that's why there was contact) into a chicane where Ros had no chance of gaining position (into the wedge) considering where his car was. Lulu had the corner, Ros had no way of getting track position so that was def Ros's fault. If he had the speed this race which he prob did, then he should of taken a better attempt at a better time. Ros fault IMO, not a racing incident. It's for sure dirty between them.

Exactly what I was thinking. Like Brundle said "Looks like Dan got Webbers seat, but Seb got Webbers car" haha Now Seb knows how Mark felt all those times, considering how much more reliability he had, especially in 2011. Seb should be doing significantly better, not that I was ever impressed by him but this is the year most of us were waiting for to truly judge his skills and it speaks for itself. No more EBD, no more excuses. P.S- Sunny, thats awesome Mark is getting on the commentary team.
