F1 » Hamilton ‘more fired up than ever’

Taipan:
Jayne: Hi Taipan Yes am well and looking forward to a momentous season where I hope its anybody but Lulu. Who do you think will shine?
Tough call, The Merc looks good but pretty much everyone is saying it will require a smart driver to cope with the regs, that should rule out Lulu but who knows maybe he's grown a brain as well as plastic hair over the winter, Nico might be well placed to profit. Williams has matched Merc's pace and bettered their reliability but I worry about their development potential .Massa could be strong early on. The McLaren looks like a strong package and Button is a smart cookie so I wouldn't rule him out. Who knows how long it will take RBR to get up to speed, but if it takes too long they'll switch to 2015. And that leaves Alonso, IF Ferrari can get close to Merc's power and reliability he has everything else, consistency, smart, makes the most from every race. So there you go, I have no idea! :)

Taipan: Richard, don't forget brake by wire, that's a Leninist idea to screw up Lulu. I should have mentioned earlier that those dirty dogs at Ford started WW2, that's one of my favourites. Evening Jayne, *waves* hope you're well.

F1 » Global TV audience ‘fell by 50 million’

Taipan: Evening Jayne, It's strange how suddenly viewing figures are really important, important enough to make a mockery of the scoring system. But when it comes to selling the TV rights viewing figures aren't even considered it's all about who offers the most money.
Taipan But you know who Bernie cares about and it is not the average fan whether they watch it on TV or go to a race. Its become a sport that's fast becoming out of reach of the fans that make it what it is!

F1 » Global TV audience ‘fell by 50 million’

Taipan: Blaming the drop on Vettel's dominance is nonsense! A loss of 30m in China due to distribution changes, and a drop of 16m in France thanks to switching to subscription only, that's 46 million in two countries. If it hadn't been for those two the growth is the US and UK would have shown overall viewing figures going up! Instead of fannying about changing the points structure to create a false ending to the season just demand that F1 is shown on free TV and viewing figures will be well up!
Evening Taipan. As usual you hit the nail on the head!! Expect The Hobbit will outwardly deny this but inside will be concerned!
