Liam48, pure conjecture. and the record books don't show Ron Dennis sided with Lewis over Alonso. They show Hamilton 2nd Alonso 3rd. And that is not conjecture it is fact. Tbh i have nothing against Di Resta he seems a very level headed guy but he just has not done anything special to warrent a drive at Mclaren or Ferrari the two drivers O'Ray has mentioned are more dynamic a drivers than Di Resta. Di Resta is a sensible and safe driver a bit like, DC. If a certain driver had been sensible in 07 we would not have a driver who has set records in his debut season records which his team principal as said will not be repeated in his life time.

F1 » 'Fernando Alonso best driver in the world'

I have to agree with those who say he can still be competitive when not driving the best car, that is the difference between him and most of the top current drivers, but we have to ask ourselves is the Ferrari as bad now as it was at the start of the season? Alonso starts are as good as i have seen and his tenacity along with his all round driving skills is what is making him the No1 right now, don't know if he will be able to imitate the great Schumi in his hay days in reeling out championships but think it is more competitive now than when Schumi and Ferrari was dominating. The only reservations i have about Alonso is if someone was to come to Ferrari and started to challenge him, would we start to see the not so nice Alonso of 07?

i think that it is pointless comparing any one driver against another . different times, different cars, different rules etc. ..................................................... Totally agree thats why i said Scottish drivers in recent times, but Ty decides to go back to way back when, because he knows there are no decent contemporary drivers from that region. @ Ghog Jenson apologized to his teammate after running him off the road in Canada 2011 he said he did not see him that is the logic i used, it conventional logic not old git logic.

Sorry Ty, i forgot Di Resta as another from north of Carlisle who in is rookie year got turned over by a crimbo while the English had a rookie who was turning over a 2xwdc in his rookie year good for a typical English driver enit. Ty remember BBC f1 have just ranked Hammi 15th on the all time list, in front of the likes of Graham Hill, Jack Brabham, Emerson Fittipaldi,Jochen Rindt and Nelson Piquet and he has only been in f1 for about 5 years i can see many records coming. As for the bet not really practical as i can see Lewis racing in to his mid forties you might of been sectioned by then due to Lewis's glittering career. Remember chief inspector Dreyfus from the pink panther.

Ty, i said recent times, those you have mentioned were plying there trade before i was born. In recent times i mean someone like DC with 13 GP wins in 14 years driving top cars. that works out less than a win/season no wonder you and your countryman are finding it hard to accept a guy from a diverse background who will most probably be the most successful British f1 driver when his career ends.

F1 » McLaren 'fired up' to get hat-trick in Canada

You mean the one where McLaren underfueled the car, Lewis had to push it back to the pits, got fined $10000, and had the FIA bring in the very rules that got them disqualified from the Spanish GP qualifying? ...................................................... Yeah that the one. I loved how the Canadian crowd was cheering Lu as he was pushing the Mclaren along the circuit it reminded me of Ben-Hur at the start of that EPIC chariot race scene. I suppose we weren't aware that Lewis was going to treat us to a Judah Ben Hur type drive the next day. Just hope JB wont try a Messala maneuver again.
