WRC » Latvala out to challenge for win in Germany

Latvala has worked very hard over the last few seasons to better understand the skills required to compete on this surface for the Win. In saying that, I still do not expect him to take the Victory, but I would be very happy to see him win and further reduce the points gap to Ogier. I think there will be quite a few of drivers who right now feel that the victory could be theirs for the taking. Ogier, Meeke and Sordo to name but a few. Don't forget that while Meeke is very quick on Gravel, like Ogier and Neuville, he learned his trade on the Black stuff. 3 Years is not much of an issue if he does a Good Recce and also Citroen wont be relaxed about it, they will be very motivated for a Win, especially as Citroen have won this Rally for the last 12 years straight and wont want that record to be broken

WRC » Meeke: Tarmac return ‘like riding a bike’

As mentioned in a post on Latvala, I think there will be quite a few of drivers who right now feel that the victory could be theirs for the taking. Ogier, Meeke and Sordo to name but a few. Don't forget that while Meeke is very quick on Gravel, like Ogier and Neuville, Meeke learned his trade on the Black stuff. 3 Years is not much of an issue if he does a Good Recce and also Citroen wont be relaxed about it, they will be very motivated for a Win, especially as Citroen have won this Rally for the last 12 years straight and wont want that record to be broken. I think its at least as possible as Latvala win. I hate to say this but my money would be on a certain Frenchman, but then again I am not a gambling man.

WRC » Bouffier relishing Hyundai WRC debut

Expect this Guy to be up there somewhere near the front and fighting. He could get 4th by the end of the event if he stays out of trouble, but he will have plenty of competition for that position from the Top 2 finishers from last years event who remarkably are also his team mates at Hyundai this time round. Sordo and Neuville will both be aiming to be the Top Hyundai driver and all 3 of them will be trying to avoid being the worst performing driver in the Team, then you have the 2 VW Main stream drivers who are going to be expecting to win, Meeke and Mads wont want to be any lower than the Top 3 on pace and then finally Mikko could turn up and in the past he has shown podium pace here. Its going to be very hard fought and someone ill have to finish 8th and the such. I think this will be an Ogier Rally though. Especially after being beaten last time out by his faster Team mate who was seemingly unbeatable on home soil

WRC » Ostberg looks to end drought, maintain Citroen run in Germany

As I said at the start of the season I fully expect Kris to be out performing Mads by the second half of the season. I really cant see Mads winning in Germany and while it would be Fantastic to see Kris take his first win next weekend I don't think it is likely given how determined VW are to in at home. Lets be honest the only reason that Citroen have an unbeaten record here that dates all the way back to 2001 is mostly down to one person who dominated even more on the black stuff than he did on the dirt. Given the determination of their rivals I would suggest that a single podium would be a great Result for Citroen and it would be wise of them not to over promise on their expectation or they will have yet more uncomfortable explaining to do to H.Q on Monday

WRC » Latvala wins Lahti Historic Rally again

I would imagine that it is quite hard to step into what can only be described as a time machine and do the kind of speeds that Jari Matti was clearly doing flat in Top Gear on those fast Lahti stages everything would be lights years difference, Engine, brakes, gear changes, suspension, Turbo Lag, the whole thing. Cleary he was enjoying himself though, its a shame that Mikko wasn't doing the Rally officially, it would of been good to compare their times, Jari Matti said back in 2012 that he was doing times in his fathers Escort BDG on sections of stage that Rally Finland had used that were similar to the WRC Car where the stages were fast and weaving rather than slow and technical. I would just be interested to see if Mikko could pedal his Escort as fast as Latvala had done and how that compared to Latvalas Audi Quattro

WRC » Meeke: Finland podium more special

There are really only two other drivers who can challenge the Top VW drivers on Pace alone and that is Neuville and his team mate Ostberg The only way Kris could lose his seat at Citroen is firstly if he has a Really bad 2nd half to the season and even then Neuville would need to come knocking looking to take his seat with Citroen for 2015 and beyond, and I don't think that is likely given that he is very much the number 1 driver at Hyundai and is reputed to be getting a very handsome pay packet for his position with them Also Hyundai is a new Team with a Long Term programme and like with Ford, Citroen are starting to sway in the wind so could pull the plug on their WRC programme at any time I think Kris is very much in a strong and secure place with Citroen for now
