WRC » M-Sport reveals 2014 livery

Ok, A few answers to a few questions and statements above : Last but not least the relationship between Ford and M-Sport is for the minute purely Ford assisting M-Sport with the Technology. I would imagine that M-Sport hold the rights to the Homologation of the Fiesta WRC and not ford, M-Sport is completely owned by Malcolm Wilson and from 1997 until 2012 M-Sport had the contract to Build and Run the works cars for for 15 years for Ford in the WRC. This came with Ford Funding that slowly shrunk in recent years but sponsors like Abu Dhabi stepped in to top the Budget up In 2012 Ford announced its official withdrawal from the WRC but still work closely with M-Sport and continue to assist with information and development of the cars Finally, The cars will appear on Monte with the Face lift front end like the R5 Fiesta that was launched last year

WRC » M-Sport reveals 2014 livery

Wow That's More like it !!! At Last a Livery that really looks the business ! Well done to M-Sport, although it is a shame that Qatar didn't renew. I hope Malcolm can confirm a New Title sponsor for 2014 soon though He will badly need one as Neither Evans or Hirvonnen bring any Real Money, testament to the commitment of Malcolm Wilson. I think Ford will be returning to the sport in an official capacity maybe as soon as 2015 anyway so this just needs to keep them going for now

WRC » Experience key for Evans on Monte bow

With the Lack of a Title Sponsor for the Team and clearly there for a shortage of Budget to run a Full WRC Programme with Two cars on every Event It is even more humbling that Malcolm has given Elfyn Evans a WRC seat in the Main Team for 2014. It speaks volumes for the potential of Elfyn who came with no Budget when you have drivers such as Ott Tanak who eventually signed with D-Mack and Evgeny Novikov who is now out of a drive, and Novkiov came with money, just obviously not enough to secure a seat for a Full season, also you have Sordo whos family own the largest Supermarket chain in Spain and whos parents have contributed to his costs every season since God was a teenager, he ended up signing to do a few Rallies with Hyundai So it would seem that Malcolm had a fair choice of experienced drivers no doubt all offering their services and most with a budget of some sort, and even with his back against the wall financially he still chose Elfyn. I think it really does show that Malcolm

WRC » M-Sport reveals 2014 livery

For Chris HX, I certainly don't think that there is any more Qatar money, the Deal was to be the Teams Primary sponsor for the 2013 season only, that ended at the end of last year so that is definitely finished and over with now. You have to Remember that Malcolm does not have any money coming in, so why would he spend tens of Thusands making his Trucks plain, I am sure Qatar have been contacted regarding this issue and s they are aware and are probably greatful for the free advertising. Secondly Hyundai do have the Calibre of Drivers that VW have, Thierry Neuville is their Lead driver this Guy will be a Match for Ogier all day long, it is the car that is questionable at the moment I personally don't think that the Hyundai will be a match for the other 3 cars straight away, I hear that the Engine isnt as strong as the drivers would like it to be at the moment, but that could change or could of changed since I heard about it a few months ago

WRC » M-Sport reveals 2014 livery

Qatar have not renewed their one year deal with M-Sport so yes they have fully gone from the equation. Obviously this is not just bad for M-Sport from a funding point of view but also it will mean Al-Attiyah will be absent from the WRC this year, although I would guess he will still compete in the M.E.R.C. Malcolm probably has more important things to do in preparation for the 2014 season than get the Branding changed on the Service Trucks for now For Aldo2654 : Red Bull are obviously very happy to be Main Title sponsor to the VW WRT, after all they have the Top drivers and won both titles last year, this is the sort of Return that sponsors hope for, so I cant see M-Sport steeling RedBull away from VW anytime soon, although its not unheard of for them to sponsor two different Teams, im sure they do that in F1.

WRC » Latvala confident of challenging champion

Its tough, Im Not sure he can challenge Ogier for the Title, Maybe the odd win, I know people take the mickey because he has accidents, but all drivers crash, Loeb and Hirvonnen tend not to crash a lot and Ogier has seemingly gone through his share of them in the past and seems to be more like Loeb was now But Neuville was crashing a lot in 2012, Novikov in 2011 and 2013, Ostberg had a particularly bad year last year too, so he is not alone in crashing out. The difference is this Guy has the speed, I personally don't think he will beat Ogier this year, I think he will be up there towards the front getting podiums with Hirvonnen, and possibly get 2 or 3 wins maybe. I don't think Ogier will have too much trouble leading the WRC early on in the season, he knows the car and the Team and he knows the roads too, there will be a lot of caution in the first half of the season as drivers get to know their cars and learn the set ups, and people like Meeke and Evans even have to learn the Ralli

WRC » Wales Rally GB secures two-year funding

This is Fantastic news for our WRC Event. Wales has been the Financial supporter of this event since about 1998 if I recall, in fact I think I did the very last Network Q RAC back in 1997 before it became Wales Rally GB the following year. Obviously due to the Welsh Government funding our Nations event it has had to remain completely inside of Wales, but thanks to Welsh Government funding we did not lose our much loved Rally and now its health and existence is guaranteed for another two years. Also it would seem the Welsh Government are Really starting to realise the potential in Motorsport as a Business, encouraging the development of Motorport Business throughout Wales, even heavily investing in an all new circuit in Ebbw Vale where the Valley Town has always struggled since the Pits were all closed down and the Town basically died along with it. Wales needs Good things like Business Development to put it and keep it on the Map

WRC » Kubica confirms co-driver for 2014

I think Kubica could surprise a lot of people now he has obviously decided to commit properly to the sport. I know he has massive commitment when he wants something, but last year he didn't seem to want a future in the WRC, he seemed to be hanging on dreams of an F1 Return. I hope now we will see a Huge effort from him, If Jannerallye is anything to go by we are in for some interesting Results

WRC » WRC 2014 driver line-up

If any one wants to see what a future World Rally Champion looks like then check out an 8 year old Kalle Rovanperra on youtube For those who are not familiar with the surname, his Dad Harri Rovanperra was a works driver for Seat in 1999 and Peugeot driving both the 206 and 307 in subsequent years The kid is now 9 Years old Footage of him in a RWD Toyota Starlet and more recently an C2 R2 Max from last winter. This is the sort of kid I was talking abut earlier when I suggested M-Sport bring through young Talent in its B Team. He will be moving to Cumbria in the next 5 years. Put it in your Diaries guys !

WRC » Citroen reveals driver line-up for WRC 2014

Cont Cont - lol Maybe you are a Fan from F1, this would certainly explain your Lack of Real WRC Knowledge and your seemingly superior knowledge impression that you know more than most on this site F1 people think that F1 is the Big Sport, its just easy to film and its all in the same place and with easy spectator access and better facilities, But IT IS NOT better than WRC though, F1 is only better than any sleeping pills, I can watch F1 and be asleep before they leave the Grid ! lol In Rally we welcome everyone though so don't be put off and intimidated by our Humble but well informed members, but do think twice in future before making a series of ill informed comments followed by a statement that you know more about the sport than most on here, just have some thought for those who are reading your comments who actually know a little about this great sport. Over and Out !!
