WRC » WRC: Volkswagen podium lockout delights Capito

I totally agree Taz If VW dominate the WRC then it will be less exciting to watch and less of an advantage commercially. You can be too successful sometimes Capito should feel some guilt having bought up the Top drivers Yes the Polo is Great, but you would expect that with the kind of budget VW have to throw around. Hyundai have probably the 2nd biggest budget followed by Citroen and finally Ford who arguably don't have a budget as such, as Malcolm has to generate almost his entire budget himself. It would be great if Ford could get Latvala back to even out the victories, but obviously this will never happen for 3 reasons, Malcolm couldn't afford him now and VW will never let Latvala go, finally why would he leave such a bullet proof dream team like VW Motorsport

WRC » Ogier equals Colin McRae’s record of 25 wins

Colin had much tougher competition back then and was a spectacular Hammer down lets beat everyone stage after stage Driver, and if the car is still going by the end then we will win, but this only worked out for him on some 25 occasions and sadly he lost his 2nd and 3rd titles in 2001 and 2002 with this same approach when he crashed out both times on Rally GB in particular Colin had regular winners like Makkinen, Vatenen, Sainz, Kankkunenn, Auriol, Gronholm, Burns, Erickson, Duval, Delecour, Panizzi and Solberg to deal with. That was when the WRC was a very tough place to do business indeed and the cars wernt as easy to drive as now and you had to be a little bit special to win, no where near as easy as these days now that Loeb has finished and Ogier just has Latvala to worry about Sometimes you have to take into account all of the above before you compare 25 wins now to someone elses 25 wins then. 25 wins competing among the past great drivers all listed above was an amazing record

WRC » Wilson: M-Sport has huge potential

Yes I mostly agree with Slightly sideways and I am sure that Malcolm and Yves Matton would love to be in a strong position like VW, but they are not. I don't think that Citroen will pull out of the WRC though, as WTCC isn't exactly F1. I think they realise that WRC is where they want to be and Loeb will probably leave WTCC soon anyway and then that programme will lose its appeal just like when Loeb left the WRC Malcolm is doing the best he can with the hand that he has been dealt, he knows Evans and Tanak will be lucky to get a podium this year much less a win, but I think he is thinking lets develop 2 promising young drivers and make as much money possible with the rest of the business so we can financially support the main programme as that's his shop window. Its a very different business to that of VW and Hyundai. Citroen and Ford are getting similar in how they have to work, only Malcolm is the Champ and has delivered over 100 R5 cars and is a true survivor and fighter

WRC » Latvala: Second more than I expected

cont : the question is Who an take the most wins, and who can be the strongest when the other one wins taking nothing less than 2nd place and maybe taking maximimum Power points. This could be where the Championship is won or lost, on the Power Stages. I think Jari Matti could win in Sweden for sure, but looking at the calendar there is not one Rally that He couldn't possibly win, ok, Maybe Ogier would throw everything at his home Rally if the organisers can find a wealthy Town to host the Rally, as there is no money for Rally France as of right now. Obviously Latvala wont win everything, but there is no reason why he couldn't beat Ogier on any of the Rallies remaining, even Germany and Spain

WRC » Evans: Potential was there to do more

Lol ! he did a bit more than clip a wall, I think the wall was almost as stunned as he was, but joking aside he did well to avoid a more damging outcome and he did better than others to get he car through the next stage and ack to service. This event last year marked his debut Full season in a WRC Car. it is obvious that a driver this full of potential will be aware of all of the requirements. He has all the potential to become a star in the sport. Already he is eyeing what could of been against such drivers as Sordo, Neuville, Tanak, Mikklessen, Meeke, Ostberg and even Loeb I think we will see him working on his speed this year and start to challenge the Top drivers on stages as he grows his confidence and self belief. I think he is progressing really well for a young driver in only his 2nd season driving a WR Car. I am keen to see him develop

WRC » Meeke takes tenth and Power Stage win

No I don't see that Taz, I think the cars are quite even, if anything Citroens drivers are possibly loosing a little time here and there at the higher speeds maybe. They just need to push a little harder on the quicker sections, this is where a small lift can cost whole seconds, all to often a driver and a team will look at stats and mostly at the car itself and where they can improve it compared to their rivals, but a great driver can always find a few seconds here and there, especially at the higher speeds it is exactly the same over at M-Sport. Sadly without Fords Bucks and indeed Factory Team status Malcolm cant compete with the likes of VW when negotiating for Top drivers regarding money and peace of mind, and the drivers are the ones who make the car win and shine again and again. VW just simply have the cream of the crop when it comes to drivers

WRC » Tanak sorry for Monte mistake

Will this guy become another Jari Matti Latvala in the making ?? Will this guy go through his share of Body shells just like Jari Matti did ?? Will Malcolm take this guy and turn him into a Future World Champion ?? Will he get there quicker than Jari Matti ?? Will he still be in a Ford when he does take his first Title ?? Will he take a few years to become a winning force in the sport ?? Will he be already knocking on the door by the end of the season ?? Will he win his first WRC event this season or next ?? Will he ever win a WRC event ?? Will he just click in the next season or two and become the next Ogier ?? They say that its the quiet ones that you have to watch !!

WRC » Loeb: No plans to do more WRC events

Oh well, Im a bit sad that he wont be back I think he aquitted himself really well, he was fighting with Ogier and all his experience and Mastery of the Monte shone through and helped him make up for being away for so long. 30 seconds faster than Ogier on the opening stage was a Great start for him. A real shame about his stage 8 mishap but with his road position he was fighting a losing battle sadly Nothing lasts for ever though, at least he gave Ogier a good fight on his final appearance. I think his comments before the Rally about having nothing to do in the winter were designed to unsettle Ogier. He was obviously trying to get inside Ogiers head and make a statement that he was just out for some fun and that he could beat Ogier without taking him serious, maybe it worked on the first stage - lol

WRC » Meeke takes tenth and Power Stage win

I think this weekend gave Meeke a lot of confidence. To drive the same car as Loeb and compete against him and feel the energy flood back into the Citroen Team again. Meeke is however a potential future World Champion himself, however he would be a solid Champion in the making had he been at this stage in his career back in 2010 when he was 30 rather than 35. Gronholm was a late Bloomer, and Loeb is now 40 and obviously still has what it takes to compete for the win. Maybe Meeke can also be that late bloomer but next year would need to be the year that he starts winning regularly. To do this Citroen needs to really challenge the Polo with its DS3 if it wants to give its drivers the best Car to launch an assault I think Meeke has the necessary steely determination to be Champion and could may go on to do it if he keeps getting better and better. He has momentum on his side, even if he doesn't have age on his side
