WRC » Loeb aiming ‘to be competitive’ on Monte return

75 percent of the Route in new so he will not have any advantage there, I am not wholly convinced that Loeb will be able to return to the Sport and simply fight at the front. It is my feeling that being away for even just 1 season is bad but apart from just 4 events in 2013 he has now been away for 2 seasons and even his last event showed that he was struggling to remain competitive having been away from the Sport for literally months I would be surprised if he won, extremely surprised. I think if he stays out of trouble he could get a podium. I am not really sure why he is doing a one off WRC Return to be honest. He must know what his chances are, maybe he simply doesn't want his very last WRC event to be France 2013 where he ended the Rally on his Roof. Maybe he just wants a different ending to his WRC Career that's all.

WRC » Abbring to lead development on new Hyundai i20

I have long thought that this kid is a Bright Young Talent I am so Glad for him that Hyundia has taken him in and I really hope that he gets a lucky break with them. It was a close call between him and Mikklessen for the 3rd VW seat but sadly for Abring his Rival for the seat Andreas was often challenging Ogiers times when VW were running a pair of Skoda Fabias the year before they introduced the Polo It seemed at the time that Kevin had lost out and dropped off the Radar, but here he is back in the ring again knocking on the door and getting a 2nd chance to put himself back in the spotlight. I think he could be a really good addition to the WRC line up and could really do well given a chance. I wouldn't be surprised if like Elfyn Evans he could get a 5th or 6th place first time out in a factory WRC drive. There are a lot of drivers in this seasons WRC line up but I think he could hold his own against the majority of them given some mileage in a WRC Car

WRC » Tanak aims to push limits at Monte Carlo

Well there is no doubt that Tanak has real Raw speed, but like Novikov who also had Raw speed he was dropped in 2012 due to his inability to find the line between being fast and crashing. I am hoping that he will make the most of Malcolms second chance and really develop. Jari Matti also had the same issue but somehow Malcolm stuck with Jari Matti and sods law VW got hold of him just when he was really starting to show all that investment that Malcolm had paid into him With any luck Tanak will benefit from the on going coaching of his Long time mentor Markko Martin and I am assuming that Markko will also form part of his Gravel crew on the monte. It would be fantastic if he got a podium but I suspect a top 5 finish is where Malcolm has set his sights for him, but finishing his first Rally back with the team must be his priority regardless of position

WRC » Citroen: Return of Loeb is special

I am not convinced he can or will win on his return. He has been away from the Sport Full time for two seasons now, I would love to see him win, that would bring balance and fairness and it would be nice for Loeb to bring the curtain down on his long and successful career with a win, it would boost Citroens confidence that their car is actually good enough to win But Don't hold your breath guys and girls, while the Master was the best driver in the WRC up until 2012, now he could find it very tough to get to the front of the pack. The one thing he has going for him is that Experience counts for more on the Monte than anywhere else in the world and speed is not the most important thing here. Loeb could win the Event with smart tyre choices and his ability to read the weather and the road surfaces One thing is for sure, Loeb will find this to be one of the toughest Monte Carlo Rallies that he has fought to win. As the old saying goes...WATCH THIS SPACE.........

WRC » Loeb heralds return by topping Monte shakedown

Wait guys, I am happy to see everyone excited but a 3km stage is hardly a Monte Win, Henning Solberg has been fastest in Shakedown on Rallies before but never gotten no where near winning a WRC Rally But It would be great to see the Master return and win the Monte after 2 years away from the WRC, but I don't think he will find it that easy. Like I said, what makes him strong here will be his huge experience of how to win the Monte from the 7 previous times he has won it in the past Tyre choice, reading the grip levels and knowing where the limits are will be his key strengths rather than pace. Being happy to lift off where others want to gain and end up in trouble like Kubica did last year will be his advantage. Monte is Loebs best chance of a win for someone of his vast experience where that is more important than pace after such a long break

WRC » Fresh new look for VW Polo R WRC

What a Fantastic Look, also that of Martin Prokops 2015 car Amazing insightful Livery ! Well done to the VW Art designers. Top Job ! Polo easily now looks like the coolest WRC in this years Championship But again, Citroen looks so boring and Mundane, it like they are joking Even Kubicas car looks quite cool with the Grey compared to last years Hyundai has quite a Good look too with the bright Red up the side Its only the Citroen now that looks boring, all the other cars are better and boring is me being polite, the colour scheme reflects their attitude ! Shockingly Poor, how can Citroen not see this ????

WRC » Jipocar reveals 2015 WRC entry

See what I was saying in an earlier post today ! This is what a Rally Car should look like from a Commercial point of view ! Citroen should seriously re think their Livery I don't know who came up with it but surely someone signed it off More than 1 person to Blame there the Jipocar is 100 times more eye catching Even the Two M-Sport Works cars will look boing next to this Car

WRC » Solberg on WRC return: Only with a proper team

I have long said that there would be Strong commercial value in Petter and Henning forming a Family Rally Team where they obtain funding to run a car each for each other and maybe not do long Haul Rallies like Australia to save on the costs This would be a lot better running 2 cars than just the one like he did in the past. Petter has driven for a Top Team in 2012 with Ford in their last Year as an official Manufacturer team and he didn't even get close to winning a Rally so that boat has sailed. Demanding a seat in a Top team makes sense after winning a World Championship but its a case of sling enough mud at the wall and we will see what sticks Trust me when I say that he hasn't all of a sudden found another gear, but he would be good competition for his Brother Henning, maybe get the odd podium perhaps
