WRC » 'Milestone' stage wins for Hyundai in Portugal

You cant fault their determination, it would seem that they have now resolved the Briggs and Stratton engine issues and are now very capable of setting fastest times with the Car. I was very surprised to see Danny leading Neuville and Hanninen, he has been surprisingly quick on selected Gravel events in the past, I think its all down to motivation with Sordo, maybe Citroen kept him guessing himself, I know when he is having a bad day on Gravel it really is Bad Its good to see him sticking his name up there though, certainly a performance out of reach of his Team mates Hanninen and Atkinson, Maybe next year he will partner Neuville Full time in the 2nd seat if he can keep this performance up. I hope they now extend his programme of events. Its good for the sport.

WRC » Evans thanks mechanics after doing 'brilliant job' to fix his car

Its all experience for him, the corner where he went off was very deceptive and it caught out few top drivers. It was Flat in 6th on the approach which is around 200KPH and looked to be what I would maybe call a right 2 light - drop outide ! When you do the Recce it would look less of a threat at just 50kph but its an aweful lot of speed to suddenly drop while still trying to carry the maximum speed possible through the corner itself, Meeke didn't even start to turn in by comparison, but did admit to having issues with his notes on that stage Elfyn is doing extremely well and is mixing it with the Top drivers, some of his splits showed he had the speed in places, I think he will get faster and faster and grow in confidence and he could soon string together a batch of fastest splits later in the season to set his first WRC fastest stage time.

WRC » Hirvonen: This result will boost everyone

I totally agree with Malcolms comments, Mikko deserves huge credit for his performance and persuit of Ogier in Portugal, the best I have seen him drive for a while, I hope this is a sign of things to come for Mikko, as I have said previously, he still has his old speed in there somewhere and he certainly showed us a glimpse of that on the weekend I am glad I recently decided that I would hop across to Finland later in the season, I think there will be a huge fight there with maybe half a dozen drivers all fighting for the win, it could prove to be the most exciting Rally Finland in years. Well done to Mikko and M-Sport for pushing Ogier so hard It exciting to hear Mikko say that we can look forward to even closer fights in coming Rallies, that's the fighting talk that I was hoping to hear from the Pixie, nothing would make me more happy than to see him fight tooth and Nail with Ogier and come out on top. Fingers crossed for him

WRC » Ogier: Opposition not sleeping

The worrying thing here is although Mikko kept Ogier honest he had to push so hard that his tyres were shot, it would seem that Ogier drove at a more comfortable pace and was able to maintain that pace to the end Mikko deserves huge credit for his performance and persuit of Ogier, the best I have seen him drive for a few seasons, I hope this is a sign of things to come for Mikko, as I have said previously, he still has his old speed in there somewhere and he certainly showed us a glimpse of that on the weekend I am glad I decided I would hop across to Finland later in the season, I think there will be a huge fight there with maybe half a dozen drivers all fighting for the win there, could prove to be the most exciting Finland in years. WRC » Ogier: I'm not afraid to run first in Portugal

Yeah, I only ever do the self drive tours but yeah is around £60 / £70 for the passes on top. I just paid £700.00 plus flights for the 5 nights in Finland Flying into Helsinki then onto Tampere where I am then only an hours drive from Jyvaskyla where the Rally is based, where as it is a 4 hour drive from Helsinki to Jyvaskyla otherwise so about a grand plus food and drinks But that is upgrading to a 4 start hotel in the host city on the door step

WRC » Ogier: I'm not afraid to run first in Portugal

Yes I am going to Rally Finland again, I have been there a few times among other WRC Rallies, I always wanted to do Rally Finland as a driver but never got round to it, it was hard enough finding Championship money let alone WRC Finland aswell - lol Maybe in a few years time I will return to do historic events in a Mk1 or a Mk2 and do Lahti Rally or something. Dave is a Good Guy at Rally Travel, he puts together a Good package with Good info, but when you visit Finland you really have to pay extra and stay close to Jyvaskyla as the food at the Hotel situated close to the stages is typical Finnish food and you end up travelling an hour back to town for decent food but you cant drink as you have to drive back to the Hotel later for sleep Finland is probably the best one to go on, but not the Cheapest, probably double the cost of Spain

WRC » Ogier: I'm not afraid to run first in Portugal

Well don't count out the others just yet, Mads was Leading in Mexico for a few stages, Mikko is getting his Mojo back slowly, but I think Meeke will really surprise people by the time Finland rolls around, I will be in Finland watching closely so I hope someone other than Ogier wins there Latvala was Leading the WRC for the 1st time in his Career and is in a strong position so he could start to push. I realise Ogier is the most capable driver right now but he may not have it all his own way yet......
